So - after thoroughly enjoying the build of my SCX10ii Chevy C10 here
http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...10ii-Chevy-C10
I was looking for something else to make without spending a fortune.

I had an axial bomber kit that I'd built a few months back - and whilst great it wasn't exactly doing it for me.

So - what else do you do but rip it to pieces and look for inspiration.

I decided on a Bomber based D90 Land Rover using one of the El Cheapo China D90 bodies that seem to be on ebay in abundance now.

Then I did some cutting and sticking and welding - forgot top take the in-between photos as 'm a bit rubbish at that but basically used a bit of 3mm sheet steel and solid rod to make the core chassis "rails" - to utilise the original bomber Skid.

I started to make up the cage - a combination of 3mm, 4mm and 5mm solid steel rod

Decided that out on the trails I really wouldn't want to be fiddling with screws to remove the body to change batteries so wanted an exocage that could be hinged upwards for easy access to the insides.

Also had to make provision for a servo winch up front in a similar style to an SCX10ii front chassis layout.

Made some brackets on the rear cage that would allow me to use the Vanquish Anti Roll Bar I had on the bomber too

The cage eventually turned into this

The Tekin RX4 esc has gone in between the rear shock hoops and is hidden by a slightly customised version of the original Bomber Fuel Cell which now houses some of the electronics such h a rear winch controller and LED receiver controlled Lighting Switches etc...

The 6 channel receiver is still in the original receiver box in front of the skid.

All the links are custom made 4mm Stainless threaded bar encased in 6mm stainless rod.
Rear trailing arms are Twin Hammers length Vanquish jobbies.

The front servo winch is home made and the winch line threads through a metal guide tube which routes the line around the perimeter of the savoy steering servo.
Then the battery "tray" i slightly angled up to make sure that on full compression the steering servo won't slam into the battery.

Mounted up LOTS of LEDs, and a onetoomanyrcs bar up front along with some RC4WD Squadron lights.
Scale alloy high lift jack mounted on the back along with a VERY heavy duty home made land anchor just for fun both held on with special brackets I made and body pins

Chopped up the Bomber interior to make it Right Hand Drive as all good Land Rovers should be

And the final bit was to give it a bit of a star wars theme like my SCX10
