Default Rjohns BPC Bomber

Got a good deal on this chassis so I whipped up another Bomber with some parts I had lying around for a UCFAB PRT I'm waiting for. Going more for a crawler with this one but still will pack plenty of power with Brood Vigor 550 but shorter almost wraith length trailing arms. It's just mocked up now, gonna strip it down, bead blast and paint it this week. So far I am very happy with the feel of it though. Very low CG and nice weight to get the suspension moving. I'll be running the Promedeler V4, SSD black assassins with Hyrax and DD foams and a Mamba X in this one as well.

More to come. Haven't figured out a body yet but might run a Maxx size Proline bug I have floating around.

Default Rjohns BPC Bomber

I decided to keep this one simple. No hardbody, no lights and no cage. Just simple fun. Just waiting for some different link mounts to shorter it up a little and it will be ready to rock.

I found this in the classifieds but you can order from http://www.bpcustomchassis.com/index.html. He does more then what's listed so shoot him a message. His battery trays are awesome.

It performs great actually. More stable than my other bombers and jumps awesome. I'll get some pictures without the body tonight. It's nothing special though, just a quick build to beat on and it's perfect for that. I am going to switch out the shocks at some point, they aren't bad but they just don't hold oil as well as I would like and I want to get a little longer set for the rear.

That BPC chassis is really nice!

The geometry is very similar to the Xtreme Racing Bomber chassis rails, available in carbon fiber (which I bought) - I might have gone with the BPC had I been aware of it first:

https://www.amainhobbies.com/xtreme-...r11863/p511067

or G10:

https://www.amainhobbies.com/xtreme-...1863bg/p511068

They may have copied BPC, I'm not sure.

I have a BPC transverse battery tray in my Ascender, and may buy another one to reposition my battery on the carbon fiber Xtreme Racing rails, as it comes setup for lengthwise battery placement.

I have a very different lexan body in mind, but it's gotta wait until I get some more funds...

Dang. I've been looking harder at options to de-wraith my Wraith lately, that BPC Bomber chassis has my attention more than anything else I've seen so far.

One cool thing about these chassis types - you can do upright body posts (especially easy on the BPC) or sideways body posts down in the rocker panel area, just use the Proline part 6087-00, Extended Front & Rear Body Mounts (Slash 4x4)...

They include the internally threaded Pro-Line Body Mount Secure-Loc Cap Kit, so no more body clips!

Here's how Lanky had his set up:

Any chance you could measure the wheelbase of this? I'm probably going to pick one of these chassis sets up and want to get an idea of overall flexibility with wheelbase lengths.

wheelbase isn't any different in stock configuration than normal bomber unless you change the links.

This is correct. I also sold it a while ago.

I figured this is true. I am running shorter rear links so my wheelbase will likely be a bit shorter than this one. Would this further limit useful rear shock upper mounts?
