I've been looking at brushless setups all week to spend my tax returns money but i can't decide between Holmes 2700kv or 3500kv.

If you make the jump, let us know

I think 2700 on 3s would be good.
Being Holmes, the low end control will still be awesome on the 3500kv, but you might have to gear low for best results.
I'm no expert though, but from what I have seen the best comparison for speed and torque is 2500-3000, with the Castle 2850 being about the best option, that I've found from researching anyway.
I'm staying brushed for now, I ran the truck today, a bit harder than the first run, it performed amazingly, perfect speed for what it's built for, great torque from this motor, which for the price left me blown away!
The tyres also really surprised me just how good they are.

Sorry for the picture spam, but here's some of the Bomber from Fridays run with the Yeti, there should be some footage to come too, but haven't looked at it yet, let alone edited it.

I will say this thing is awesome, absolutely love it, I hammered it pretty hard as time went on and didn't break anything that I have found.

My Dad went nuts with his Yeti and broke nothing either, considering it is completely stock, it's one of the strongest I've witnessed first hand!

Anyway, hope you enjoy the picture!

Ohh yeah, it's a good place on those rocks for a 2.2 rig and the other side of the road (the last few photos) is great for scaling/trailing

I was unsure if to bother with a wheel upgrade for this, because the stock ones held up fine, they were vented and all 5 matched, but in the end I caved and ordered some, all 5 arrived super quick from China, so I can't complain!

I want to get a slightly more secure spare wheel winder, not sure what else to call it, but the plastic one feels like it will strip easily and I don't want to just use a nyloc nut either, so I'll have to have a look around for that or maybe get one machined.

I'm also very unhappy with my Vanquish lightbar mounts, broke on the first roll today, I know I didn't have a lightbar actually on yet, I was doing some meauring up and decided to just leave the brackets on and they broke today like cheap China metal, not good.

So I will have to come up with something if I want to run a lightbar too as I won't buy those brackets again.

It's light time!

Didn't take pictures doing the fronts.

Also very happy this combo is holding up, specifically the motor, I ran it quite hard today, a lot of flat out throttle climbing and jumping and the motor was only warm, I feel I could go up 2 or 3 pinion teeth, but I won't, just to be on the safe side, for what I'd actually gain in speed, it's not really worth the risk.

I plan on getting the lightbar on somehow, not sure how yet or what brackets I will use.

I absolutely love this thing!

I feel in future I may end up going brushless with it, but for now I'm very happy with it*

You need a DMG Roof panel with the lightbar protecting bar:

DMG RR10 Bomber Light Bar Guard & HD Roof Panel

And this might work for you, too - for your spare tire:

RC4WD Spare Tire Knock Off For Losi Baja Rey & Vaterra Ascender K10

Thanks for those, but being in the UK, I don't order from the states, especially RPP, as they seem to have about the highest postage rates anywhere, I was quoted $28 shipping for an item that I got from elsewhere for $9 shipping lol.
Might have to get something custom made for the lightbar, but at the end of the day I don't absolutely need one, I probably won't even run it at night anyway.
Thanks for taking the time to post the links though.

I like the black Bomber. Looks nice.

The DMG top panel/light bar protector is nice, but it's price for what it is IMO.

So I had this up for sale, due to thinning out my collection and actually considered all but leaving the hobby.

As a few people showed interest, I decided I couldn't quite let it go, another few models have already gone and the shelves are looking a bit more bare than I'm used to, so I have decided to give this another run sooner rather than later and see how I really feel.

With that in mind, I thought I'd put my spare lightbar on it, it was originally bought for this truck, but I just never really had the enthusiasm to get it done.

Planning a run out with the brother-in-law soon, over some terrain I know this thing will absolutely love, so here's to hoping I get some good pictures, maybe some footage and hopefully decide to just keep it!

Been on a serious LED binge today, sorting out the SCX10s front lighting and now the Bomber, and I think after some food I will make a start on the SCX10s rear lighting.

The driver and passenger look happy, now they'll be able to see on those evening/night time runs!

I ran the Bomber, my brother-in-law ran his Gmade Komodo, after a full rebuild, new wheels, tyres, shocks, screw kit and some added weight in the way of rock sliders and axle guards, runs way better than before, but still suffer from approach angle because of the bodyshell length.

No biggie, he loves it and that's the main thing!

Today was decision day, I said at the start, either the Bomber or the Baja is going up for sale today, the Bomber is staying, the Baja is for sale, decision made!

What camera is that?
I planning an FPV setup myself but the full size gopro makes the truck top-heavy.

I bought a 5.8ghz video transmitter and an android usb receiver.
Works great but those little drone micro cameras don't have much image quality.

My goal is to find a way to mount the gopro to the windshield area and hook it up to the 5.8ghz setup.
Then i can record and FPV in HD at the same time.

Glad you're keeping the bomber, it's excellent due to the versatility of the chassis. It's pretty good at slow technical crawling but also handling a bit of speed for fun. Mine is now brushless, but I have yet to see how the 2-pole trailmaster pro handles on the rocks.

GoPro Hero Session buddy, great little cameras, they weight so much less than a normal GoPro, in comparison to my Hero 4 Silver.
The Hero 4 comes in at 204g ready to fit, the Session is 95g ready to fit.
It might not be kilograms in difference, but if you have it slightly off centre like I sometimes do, it can make a big difference in stability.
As long as you don't want 4K (which my version doesn't do) then it's a very good option, I do believe the newer Hero Sessions do support 4k, but it's not something that bothers me, I very rarely record above 1080p, for file size and recording time, plus it's still good quality, so I don't see the need, very rarely I will record in 2.7k and downscale it to 1080p, but not often.
I am planning on mounting it some other places too and hitting some nice trails.
Yesterday I recorded for 1hr 34m straight, on 1080p at 30fps, it still had power left, but that was the end of our little run out.
I dare say it would get close to 2hrs.

Some footage from our run out yesterday.
GoPro onboard my Bomber, following my brother-in-laws Gmade Komodo.
Video turned out better than expected, what do you think?
Do you like the onboard action?
We'll try to do more if you enjoy it!
This is raw, straight from the camera Jboucher, to give you an idea on the quality, with a little bit of editing it can be made to look even better, but I left it raw for you to see.

Excellent video, it runs very smooth. If you want a bit more speed, a 13t pinny would be a good choice. I was running a 14t on mine, but 13t would be safer.

This is awesome, it's really a shame the gopro sessions dont have an AV-out...
I could see the video in real time with my 5.8ghz setup.

I'll try to find a way to mount my full size shooter. The Firefly 7s has video out and 1080p stabilized

That was only roughly mounted too lol, now I know the footage came out good, the next run out it will be even more solid to the truck

That wasn't as fast as it goes lol, I kept getting distracted talking and also trying to stay behind him and making sure I didn't fall over lol.
I'm happy with the speed it has when flat out for the time being.

Ahhh, I'm not sure about all that stuff lol sorry!
Not sure if you could maybe adapt it somehow?
I've never run an FPV system.
