Fuel cell winch battery and controller mounting mod

I'm new here. Figured I'd make my first post. Have been I and out of R/C since the 80s. Clod Buster represent. Have owned a Clod Buster, T-Maxx, XTM X-Factor, and mini E-revo, that is it.

Picked up an Axial Bomber second hand new in box with a handful of upgrades including a rc4wd warn winch and winch controller with remote. I bought a standalone lipo battery to power the winch. I was trying to figure out where to mount the battery and controller when it dawned on me. The fuel cell!

I modified the inside by taking out the plastic ribbing. Took the winch controller out of the case and velcro'd it to the inside, made a small slit for the battery wires. Connector can be inside or outside of the box and still can reach my winch at the front of the rig.

I just ordered the DMG spare tire mount to replace the upgrade my bomber came with.

I like it good idea...I always like any mod that frees up space and neatens up the rig chassis

Next time i do major surgery on the bomber, i'm relocating all my light controllers in the fuel cell.

Unless you want it for looks I'd suggest removing the spare tire. It hinders performance.

I figured, yeah I like it for looks but it's removable for a reason
I'm going for a scale look so I will probably keep it unless I'm being competitive at some crawling.

I have a full Vanquish stainless link set and aluminum trail arms on their way, along with steering and servo arm.

Next will be knuckles and axles(the stock axle bind at steering lock is ridiculous(have to limit steering angle, which is dumb as f))


Also, the cheap stock shocks are leaking like crazy and I already greased up the o-rings with AGS.
