been tinkering when I should be sleeping, got the jack in a place I actually like, and came up with a fuel filler neck holder I like, for now, used a cable anchor, drilled out to fit the fuel line, and a chrome shouldered PC standoff screw.

Team KNK hardware unexpectedly and pleasantly arrived this afternoon, got all of the exterior cage screws and body panels swapped over to the stainless hardware, only thing left is the link and shock mounts on the axles.

Would finish but off to see Candlebox, Stone Temple Pilots, and Alice in Chains.

Yeah man they came in 2 days from Amain!!! Was good timing because I was bored. Looks so much better with the painted cage than the black oxide hardware. Only had to paint the heads of the 4 coarse specialty harware.

I still can't make up my mind on what wheels I want :/

Chassis looks so much more balanced WITHOUT the spare tire on it...very nice.

Agreed but I think it's actually more balanced physically, with it. Especially since I have the steel wyrtymade winch plate up front with a warn winch adding front end weight. I haven't jumped it yet since upgraded to the VP axles and removing the spare, so we'll see.
I'll lose a little weight when I get rid of the aluminum interior panel for the stock one once it gets here.

Can always run beef patties in the rear wheels to replace the spare tire weight. It's even better since it's on the axle and not high above the CoG.

Awesome build by the way, your last few updates gave me the kick in the ass i needed to finish mine

But i can't afford the Mamba X / puller pro yet...

Sensored is a must with the Mamba X. I just upgraded (yes, upgraded) from a sensorless motor to a Traxxas 21t, and soon I'll be getting a wp 1080 so I can use the Mamba for something else.

the mamba x is a censored capable ESC. It's what I'm running with their 2850kv slates sensored motor. The Puller Pro is sensored also.

I know, I just think it's funny that I consider it an upgrade to move from a sensorless motor to a brushed motor.

I would keep the mamba X in over the HW1080, purely because of the AUX mode with rock racer/crawler. I would then put 4S through the Titan. You can then squirt it about if you want and also crawl as well. Win win. Even try something like a 55T 540 with 6S, bags of low down grunt and pretty good wheelspeed as well.

I'm only getting a 1080 if I need the Mamba for another one of my RCs. I will miss aux wire if I ever switch it out.

I weighed my bomber finally...... What a pig, 9.5 pounds with battery!

And 55t on 6s sounds crazy! Would be fun to try!

Did some research, watched some videos.
Ordered wheels, foams, tires, and another set of hubs
The wheels and tires can be a surprise, though nothing special, plus this foam combo, to see how I like it:

CI Double deuce mediums front and rear, with competition cut in the front. This way, If i don't like the comp cut, I can order another set of mediums and have spares, or if the rears are too soft I can order firms for the rears alternatively.
Then if I still hate them Dueces Wilds are cheap enough.

Got my Bomber interior today, and learned you aren't suppose to paint lexan with enamel paint, so I have to go back to the hobby lobby and exchange my enamel for acrylic :/

Just make sure the paint is for polycarbonate plastic. There is enamel and acrylic versions. The trick is to make sure it is for lexan. The Tamiya PS (Polycarbonate Spray). Works great.

Yeah I read that online. Not really much options here without ordering a bunch of paint online at $5 a color from tamiya. I'm just painting a stinkin interior.

I got acrylic Testors paint set and a Lacquer matte clear Testors spray. It's model paint, I'm not a painter, it will have to do :P fingers crossed

Painted some test color stripes and cleared them on a spare piece of lexan sheet for making windows, waiting for it to dry now.

The guy at the RC shope said lacquer clear over acrylic would work fine, so we'll see.
