There are tricks as MickSz mentioned to correct the pinion angle - for example, JEC Racing/SuperShafty trailing arms are approximately 3mm shorter than stock arms which raises the rear pinion angle for better clearance over terrain - they mention it in their advertising. Even tiny adjustments can make a difference.
