Default c0bra’s b1b bomber #58

I figured it’s about time that I create a build thread for my b1b bomber.... although it’s not much of a build thread seeing how it’s already built.

Anyways it’s got a pretty extensive parts list which started with a built bomber transmission but I didn’t like how it ran with that so after a wile I replaced the skid plate with one for an scx10 transmission.

The transmission itself is fully built, vp case, ssd gears with Robinson racing gears and gen3 slipper, incision outputs and a supershafty motor plate. It’s got the standard gen3 slipper with a 16t pinion.

The original donner begin life as a yeti kit which was built with nearly all of the vanquish parts available. It’s got the full vp steering treatment. Outback it’s got a built ssd black diamond axle with ssd trailing arms and vp uppers and a vp sway bar.

The shocks are tlr 22sct front shocks and yeti kit rears with 35wt oil all around. Other than that it’s got ssd wheels with voodoo u4 tires and ci foams.

Electronics are a hitec 7954 servo, mamba x with a 1415 2400kv motor and airtronics rx

Those are Barndog’s panels. I have the same and they are great quality, fit and finish.

Yep your right. The barndog panels are great all around and for an extremely reasonable price

Man, it seems like not that long ago I was waiting on my B1B #4 kit to be delivered, now #58 is out in the wild.

Looks like it is off to a good start, can't wait to see more.

I had problems with finding 12mm bore shock springs (Associated shocks on my B1B, similar size to your TLR shocks) heavy enough to hold up the front end and it looks like from the pic you are having the same problem. The answer for me was Durango white series 65mm buggy rear springs, they were the only company that made a stiff enough spring in the right size (part # TD330460).

I used the Proline Slash shocks on the front. They worked really well. I had the XL powerstrokes on the rear. Far better than stock Bomber shocks.

Are you running the stock powerstroke springs up front?

I’m currently running stock yeti kit rear shocks with yellow springs

But from my experience with a Bomber and a Yeti, Axial shocks suck. They are leak-o-matics. The Proline XL shocks fit beautifully in the B1B. I removed the springs from the Axial rear Bomber shocks and used them as a second set to give it a little more look. Overall, I was very happy with the suspension. It definitely needs a rear sway bar though!!!

Yes they are. I’m debating on getting another set for a wraith based u4 style rig that I’m having the cage built

I wanted them for my Bomber but had to buy Pitbull Growlers, because they were out of stock EVERYWHERE.

I picked up a set of rear powertroke shocks for this, and I ordered a set of the xt versions for the rear from my lhs. I will either pick up the universal mounting kit from my lhs or order it online

After over 2 months of waiting for the power stroke CT’s to come in I finally stumbled across a set in the display case at the lhs, so I picked them up and the mounting kit. So this will finally have its new shocks soon!
