Default Hood pins

Anyone done a conversion to get rid of the hood pins. Was thinking of adapting the proline screw on caps like I have on my slash 4x4 body.

using these https://www.prolineracing.com/perfor...umbwasher-kit/

I was thinking of buying these, when I realized I had a bunch laying around. Most of you do too!

Use the Axial fake wheel hub caps.
Cut off body post top.
Use 4mm x 20mm setscrew or screw with head removed.
Drill out body post. I used 1/8 bit.
Insert screw.
Screw wheel hub cap onto body post!

I did this mod today. Removed the hood pin mounts and drilled the hole out take an m4 up through the tab put a nut on top and then use the proline tops that I had and works like a champ.

This thread deserves a bump because it's a great idea. I went with the Pro-Line Body Mount Kit and it is Slick! It sure beats the body clips.

The guy at the LHS looked at me kind of funny when I asked for them so I'll have to bring in my Bomber to show him.

Cheers!

I'll be doing this mod in a little while to my Bomber, using the JConcepts part #2160-2 - Battery Hold-down Thumb Nuts, Black aluminum.

Thanks for bumping the thread, as I needed a refresher on how to go about it!

I've had the parts sitting around for ages...

Interesting! My Bomber needs something like this too... the aluminum hod is too thick to use the push pin, so only the battery retainer is locked - the hood claps freely at every jump...
