For my Bomber I'm thinking about replacing my Castle slate can with a 40mm 1/8 scale sensored motor from RCJuice.

Rc juice has really good stuff and his prices are amazing. I get my batteries and motors from him. His JX servos are good too.

Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro BL 540 Standard in 3500kv, on 3S - best choice overall for a fast Bomber... IMHO!

I drove the Yeti a little bit this week, and I'm very happy with that motor so far. It's not blisteringly fast, but it's got to be somewhere in the high 20s or nearing 30mph on 3S. Even with a pretty large pinion (17 or 18 tooth), the motor still has good, smooth low speed startup when paired with the Mamba X. I took a video of a low speed start that I'll include when I do my review.

Good thread, and kinda falls along the lines of a “What powers your...(model)” thread. I was recently thinking of getting Redcat Gen8, but when Horizon/Axial posted up that sale event, I remembered that I had also considered another Wraith, or perhaps a Bomber. I have a kit-built Wraith, but would enjoy playing/modding a new RTR. On the other hand, the Bomber might be more practical for the property at our new home, which contains a large hill for a backyard, with woods at the bottom. Another plus for getting a Bomber is that I have a greater surplus of basher electronics, including a Castle Monster X esc and sensored 1410 3800kv motor. Even have a sensored 1512 2650kv, which I’d intended to use on a future Slash 4x4 upgrade. Definitely got some contemplating to do.
