I'm building my bomber kit and the rear diff is really tight. The problem seems to be that the axle on the ring gear side is pushing the ring gear into the pinion too hard. When I remove the rear lockout on the ring gear side everything spins smooth. As far as I can tell all the bearings are seated properly. Any suggestions?

With the axle assembled. Chuck the pinion in a drill. Run it forward and reverse to break-in the gear mesh. SENT from THE DARK SIDE of THE MOON |

My first bet would be on the inner pinion bearing not being properly seated all the way into it's pocket, (can sometimes be a little plastic flash in the pocket) pushes the pinion in a little too deep & makes the gear mesh too tight. |
