Default Which sway bar?

Hi I am new here and just picked a RTR bomber. My first upgrades are going to be incision ss links with short rpm rod ends and a sway bar.I can't decide between the axial sway bar or the vanquish anti rock.Thevanti rock looks nicer but do they perform the same?I don't want to loose all the rear flex but want to loose the torque twist. Thanks for any advice.

Hi,
welcome!

This thread might help:
Bomber suspension - sway bar or spring rate change

I put the vanquish on mine. Definitely helped but it will still roll if you are on a high traction surface and crank the wheel over.

HR sucks. Avoid that one. That's the only one I have personal experience with.

Thanks for the link and the replies guys.I am still torn between the vanquish anti rock and the axial one.It was my son's birthday last week so I am broke until pay day but that gives me a bit of time to decide.

Vanquish has adjustability by changing where the links mount on the arms, Axial has none other than changing "bar"

If and when I upgrade again I will go HR. I've had bad luck with VP sway bars both version 1 and version 2. I am currently running axial sway bar that came with my kit and have no complaints. I am actually making a quick disconnect set up so when I'm crawling I can remove the links and secure them away for more flex just like on 1:1 rigs without using any tools.

May I ask in what way you had bad luck with the VP sway bar?
And what are the differences between the two versions?

I think I am going to go for the axial one.For me it isn't fun without a sway bar.Way to much torque twist for the way I drive it.

For me the set screws kept backing off even when using red lock tite and the aluminum that the set screws thread into strip out. Version 2 just comes with bigger set screws to “fix” the problem but same thing happened to my version 2

I like the UCFab one. Beeftubes sells them.

UCFab...never had it fall apart on me once. For cheap and simple, Axial sway bar.

I think I had the same or a similar issue.
In my case it was surprisingly hard to tighten down the set screw at all, so it probably never fully seated.
After one of the arms fell of the rod for the first time, I used an M4 screw tap to "clean" the tread in both arms.
Seemed there was a lot of residue from machining or anodizing in it that prevented me from properly tightening down the set screws.

Should not be necessary to do this, but it was an easy enough fix for me...

Also got another VP sway bar kit recently and that one didn't have that same problem, so maybe just a bad batch?

I’ve always been curious to try this out:

https://www.boomracingrc.com/axial/y...n-metal-109259

I know it’s the same as a axial sway bar set up but will eliminate the plastic from flexing the actual bar.

I used the Axial sway bar that came with my kit, and I have absolutely no complaints. The truck doesn't torque twist when crawling, and when I'm in off-camber situations, the truck is much more stable and easier to maneuver. When I do full throttle launches, it launches straight with minimal twist.

I used a vp sway bar v2 and at first I did have problems with the set screws backing out. So I took the bar off and pulled the set screws and filed them flat, blue loctite and reassembled off the rig then installed it into the rig. No problem with set screws now but jesus its stiff. I'd probably try something else.
