Was thinking about getting a 2 speed out of the three that I have able to find (axial, ssd, and hr) what would be the better choice?

There is a lot of threads on the rccrcawler about using a brushless motor instead of the 2 speed.

Didn’t know rc4wd had one. You talking about the one for the wraith/scx10?

I have the Axial 2-speed in both my Yeti and my Bomber, and am really happy about it. As far as comparisons go, I can't do any though. If I didn't get the Axial one, I would get the SSD, simply because they were the first to do it and some of the other brands are basically just a rip off of SSD:s design.

If you get SSD, you might want to get the lever set from Axial. It's not necessary, but might make it a bit easier to set it up.

Couple the 2-speed with a Mamba X, so that you have 100% drag brake and instant reverse in gear 1 and less drag brake (30-50% or whatever is your preference) in gear 2, and you have a very flexible rig. You will crawl like a champ, and when you go into 2nd gear and race off, you will not risk a front flip as soon as you let go of the throttle. A good sensored motor does not give you that flexibility.

I went ahead and got the Hot Racing two speed installed a couple days ago and I couldn’t be happier. Right now my I’m running a stock spec Hobbywing xr10 and Eco Power slingshot 17.5 that I pulled out of my tlr 22 just get the bomber running. Next up is a better esc and motor. I’m wanting something with a little more speed.

Welcome to the site! Sweet paint job!

The best ESC for the Bomber is the Castle Mamba X. For motors I like Tekin ROC412 or Holmes Puller Pro. That's a high end setup.

Over the weekend I decided to paint the bead lock rings and added a cheapo led light bar.

Had some stuff laying around from my FPV micro quads and an idea popped in my head. So I took one of the extra helmets from the kit and now some FPV crawling.

That's actually pretty nice.
I have the same FPV AIO (Eachine TX03) on my drone and my yeti jr.

Didn't know they fit inside the bomber helmets!

Their field of view is limited, you might not see much being inside the truck but I can't wait to see footage!

Definitely not the best but could still be fun. I think a camera with the vtx separate would be better with clearance of the roof.

It will be very good on flat ground but crawling you won't see anything

Nice Job. I run a Mamba X and ROC412HD 3100KV. Don't see a need for the 2 speed lol.
