Default Bomber wheels start moving full speed

Looking for some help to tell if the esc in my bomber went up in smoke. It did smell like something as really hot in the truck. I was playing around with it today and within a few minutes it went from moving fine to only being able to drive in reverse. Right after that it started to go full speed without me touching the tx (luckily I was already holding it off the ground)
I haven’t tried to plug a battery back into it yet. Any thoughts?

Disconnect the pinion or drive lines and then plug the battery in. Probably check the remote first, that trims are centered correctly and start with a calibration.

Or if it was a stock ESC just throw it away and get a Hw1080.

That's exactly what happened to me last week. Ditch the stock ESC and order a Hobbywing 1080. I did.

Before throwing money at it definitely check the transmitter (trim). Usually that is what will cause throttle sticking/erratic throttle/no reverse. It will seem like a catastrophic failure and just takes a tiny tweak of the knob(s) to correct. As far as the burning smell that sounds like the motor, not the esc. Probably from being stuck at full throttle.

Edit: nvm, noob mistake. I hope you've fixed this since April LOL. Carry on.
