need some 5mm inner diameter shims and put them on the outside of the housing right where the driveshaft mounts. i use these, been great for me. https://www.amainhobbies.com/kyosho-...caAs6rEALw_wcB

it comes with a bunch, just use as many as needed to tighten it up so the gears arent binding. i used 2 of the 0.3mm ones, but everyones situations are probably different

So, by adding shims, the gears are shimming away from the housing, making it not tight ? Sorry, I am new to shimming. ty

the most common reason to add shims is that the gears are not meshing properly. this is usually due to the gears being jammed into each other too close. the helical design of the teeth draws the gears toward each other. to combat this, the shims are used on the outside of the axle housing, on the pinion shaft, next to the driveshaft mounting area. this creates a pulling effect on the pinion shaft, pulling and forcing it away from the ring gear. it removes the opportunity for the pinion gear to be drawn into the ring gear, thus negating any binding. hope this helps
