Default More power?

I've got a friend that just picked up the bomber and was disappointed with the speed.

Would this be over kill with a 17T pinion?

Would it break all the innards?

It’ll be very fast but you’ll lose all your low speed control with a sensor less setup like that. As far as breaking parts, that all depends how you drive it.

If you have no plans on it being a crawler, throw the HW setup in and let it rip. If you want to maintain any sort of crawling ability, a sensored system would be way better. Most would run a Mamba X/motor of choice setup but if you want to stick with HW, I would look at the XR8 SCT ESC combos.

Since the Bomber is a AR60 based truck, the likely failures are axle gears, axle housings, c-hubs, knuckles, trailing arms, and front links. The most common way to make them reliable is to replace everything from the skid plate to the wheels.
