Default Steering link custom help

I've got a Bomber with wideners and can't seem to find a steering link that fits. I measured eye to eye and it needs 188mm link. The metal link I'm using now forces the wheels to slant outward. I obviously need them to be parallel to each other. Help!

Stock link? Can you shave it down a couple MM on each end? Can you add a little extra bend to it? Wideners shouldn’t affect the length of this link as the knuckles haven’t moved.

Metal link. It's clearly not the same length as my OG Bomber, nor is the distance required the same.

Links are fairly simple to make using Traxxas rod ends or the newer Axial ends.

You've got it right that the link is too long if the tires are facing outward. Instead of trying to modify the link, can you use shorter rod ends? If the rod ends are plastic and LONG, you might be able to cut a little off to shorten them or find new rod ends shorter than the ones you have now. Too short is an easy fix by adding a spacer washer between the link and the rod end. Good luck . . . . . . . .

One trick I did recently is a bag of 10 cheap traxxas rod ends and like 2 feet of #8 all thread. It's cheap enough to play around with til you find the perfect length and once it's dialed in you can order a custom length link.
