Default Bomber transmission options?

I just recently picked up a rtr bomber and soon figured out why kits are sometimes better, my bomber is far from stock form except the receiver.

With that out of the way I am currently running a HW Axe 2750 kit with a 13 tooth pinion and stock axle gears. The speed is nice and the ability to craw smoothly is nice as well. But now I am on the hunt to lower the cg and want to run a scx trans with a super shafty skid plate.

My question is for the gearing though. The scx stock is 2.6 compared to 1.08. I could go with the ssd high gear option but what would be the largest pinion I can fit?

Crunching numbers I would have to run a 21 tooth pinion on the ssd high gear transmission. Would this even be possible?

Your forgetting the bombers transfer case reduction. If you want to crawl you dont want the ssd high ratio option. Theres plenty of room to adjust the pinion/spur for decent speeds with the old 3 gear trans.

Researching I think I found with the bomber trans and transfer case it comes out to 1.94 to 1.

If that is the case it wouldn't be hard to play around with different pinions to match my current setup and also it would be nice to run a scx trans with a VP dig option.

Yeah stick with the 3 gear and either a dig, or the longer locked out tail section like the stock wraith has. If you need more speed, you can also get a smaller spur aswell. Stock is 56 on the 32p setup, you can get a 50 or 52 if you find you're under geared with the 56 (doubt you will though). Also could always run a puller pro 3500kv for more torque and wheel speed. Could run that on 4s too.

With my current setup with just a GPS app on my phone stuffed in the car I clocked 25mph. Which is plenty fast enough for this car...it is a bear to keep straight on gravel roads as it is!

with a 3 gear trans the bomber is pretty much a wraith with trailing arms as far as set up goes

If you want true Low CG look at High Altitude Performance's Low CG Skid kind of pricey but it performs amazing
