Default makahacrawlers.scx10

I got mine sat night and was up till 3am putting it together. I was stoked on the build and the extra parts it came with. A couple things i was not
Stoked on. The dual rate spring set up. The ring gets caught up on the threaded body when compressed. The plastic spacers on the trans case should be aluminum. Another thing that im bummed on but can live with. The tires are m2 and not the G8. I still have to put the electronics in and ill go bash on it. Thanks to my wonderful gf who painted the body and beadlock rims. Pics to come.

Hey makaha, got mine too and also stayed up till 3 am putting it together. Just like you said with the little things, tiny little dissapointments but the kit overall is really nice. It was nice that they included alluminum clamp hexs. Gonna put electronics in today. Post those pics up. Aloha

If you're having a problem with the dual rate spring retainers snagging the shock body, flip the springs over so the retainer is on bottom.

Like so......

Hey bender,

Not to question u( cause your god, seriously) but if i put the smaller springs on the bottom, wont that change the spring rate? I already thought of reversing the springs but never did it because i thought it would change the springe rate top to bottom. Maybe im wrong. I was under the impression that the softer spring on the bottom and stiffer on top to make it progressive.

I have a pigery on paakea rd closest to hakimo. It's actually on the corner. My cousin does live in maili. Once I finish my rigs maybe we go meet up. I know there is a guy in maili that has a bunch of rocks in his back yard. I think his name is justin. Shoots den

The softer spring will always collapse before the stiffer one, no matter the order they are stacked. The only issue I can foresee with Benders idea is the springs bowing and getting caught up on the shock anyway.

Might not be a bad thing. The G8 compound flatirons look like they may be too soft. Around here we really don't need the extra traction of the G8, anything with decent compund and good lug spacing can grab traction.

What 2JSC said. The spring rate is the same no matter which way the springs are.

Exactly. And I haven't had any issues with the springs hanging up on the bottom of the shock bodies either, been running this set-up since I assembled mine.
