Default FROADER's SCX-EB

I picked this thing up from my LHS last night. It was priced at $260 so I asked if they price match. Thank you RPP!!
I finished building the kit last night (about 3 hours) and left it at that. I had some electronics that I was going to use already, so I started that today. I got it all hooked up and fried the ESC and Servo (stuff was about 16 yrs old), so back to the LHS I went.

I'll spare everyone the pictures of a box and I don't have any progress pics.

I chose the 'optional' batt. mounting location.

I recycled my Bronco body and just finished mounting that up today.

I'm really diggin' this little truck. The next thing for it is to get the green off the bead rings and paint the wheels black. I also need to fine tune the shocks, but I'll wait until I actually drive it on the rocks to do that.

The Bronco is from HPI and the FJ40 is the Proline 'Bushwacker'

Check the paint and body forum. Tons of info and ideas there.

Looking good. That body looks great on there! I'm planning to go the optional battery route as well. Ultimately I want to build a styrene bed for my scaler body.

Not too much for now. It seems to perform really well with where I've driven it so far. I'll probably get the Aluminum upgrade parts for both trucks, but the body is "done."

Check out ZUKMAN's thread. He's got the FJ40 body on it now. Looks pimp!
2nd page – Zukmans SCX10

Also, my FJ40 X-Trail is the same wheelbase (11.5) as the SCX-EB, so it will look similar to mine.

The Bronco body looks really good on there. What roof rack are you using?

Did the Easy Off (over night) and paint trick tonight. There is still a little green in a few spots, but I was impatient so I'll get the rest later.

After Mriswith posted this thread, I remembered I had the stock TXT lid sitting in the shed somewhere. I decided to use it as a basher type body. Today when I got home from work, I started painting and it turned out better than I was planning. It fits really well on the stock SCX with very minor trimming.

I used the "door" part of the wild bird feeder for the rack on this one, trimmed it to size and mounted it, and this is what I ended up with.

The rear posts are the mounts for my EB body that I didn't take off yet. I might not have to depending on the bumper I choose for this body. They're not exhaust pipes. :-P

I need to make up a skid plate to hide the front of the frame.

I think I may get some scale snowboards or skateboards for the top and get rid of the "sleeping bag and tow strap."

The bird feeder roof rack is sweet.. I might do that rather than buil one for my FJ. Just starting to build my second SCX10 right now. I am doing the Diablo body liek Bender and running a Goat esc with a 13.5 sintered rotor for the motor. I want this one to perform and I may even go with a regular diff up front.

My GF and I went to Coyote Canyon in Anza, CA yesterday so she could learn how to drive her newly lifted Jeep on the trails. Of course I took the "Guam Bomb" and the SCX out with us. She did good with the Jeep and the FJ40.

Hey Froader...how did you paint the tan bronco body on the outside. Did you use polycarbonate paint?
