Default Ambush 62PYRO style

Well I just had to get one. It's the first kit I've built in a long time.I think it's a very nice kit and was fun to build. The only thing I'd have liked to have seen different would have been the beadlock rings to be anodized the same sweet color as the other aluminum parts.Oh well,we know I'm just going to change them anyways.
I got it built stock for now to give me an idea of where I'll go from there.Anyone that knows me,knows it won't stay that way long.I'll spare you the stock pics since we all know what that looks like by now.
First thing was to decide on a body for it.I was undecided between the Pro-Line Bushwhacker,

And the Pro-line Ambush,

Sorry for the crappy pics.My camera doesn't like to take pics of clear bodies with the lighting in my apartment.
Anyways, after seeing that a couple of others are going with the FJ40,I decided to use the Scout body.I plan on shortening the wheelbase just a hair to better center the wheels in the wells.
I'll keep this updated as I make the changes from stock.
Stay tuned for more.

I think the bushwacker. and a set of one off posion sypider rings. I could hook you up with a guy that could make the rings for you. Here's a link to the guy that makes the rings.

The rears are and the body is just sitting on them.It sits just a hair lower after cutting the post holes.

Good choice on the Scout Pat. Can't wait to see what happens with this. Especially the rings.

With me, a long time is longer than for others.I have to fit trying to build into spare time between work, daughters weekend schedule and getting peoples rings done.:-(It might be easier if I didn't live in an apartment with too much stuff.
It'll be a slow start.Still trying to get a few things machined for the Wreckluse.Mostly planning stages for it right now.
Yes I'm planning on some tube work.I just don't know how much yet.

I know you already decided on the Scout body, but I like the FJ. It just seems to be portioned better to the size of the frame.

I'll be using one of my other designs for now until I can figure out a good design for something one-off.

Hey Pat welcome to the "IH Scout Build Crew" one thing we insist on is that you work slowly and of course make any of those trick parts and things that your going to make available to all of us. Right now it's just you and me buddy the others have been disqualified for working to fast.

That's funny right there.
I guess we'll have to see who can take longer.
If it's true that it takes longer to be better,we should be the best.

I told you it was going to be a slow build. Finally got a chance to get a couple of style rings cut in between customer orders.
Which do you think I should go with for now?
On the ones with holes,I'm thinking of changing one of the small ones to a valve stem cutout.Think I should?
This was just playing around with a couple of designs.Did figure out a way to get better small holes from the waterjet.Notice the difference between the bolt holes on the first set and the second ones.
