Default Pinchflat's SCX10 Toyota Flatbed Build.

Yeah WTF am I going to build?

I have this SCX10 and have installed The AWESOME Hand Bros on-frame steering kit and was having a hell of a time figuring out what to do for our upcoming UTRCRC State Scale Championships in October. ( UTRCRC Scale Championship Ultimate Adventure )

I have a few ideas & a few bodies laying around but am mostly at a loss. I want something I won't get sick of and sell right after the comp.

EDIT: (forgot to mention... I have little or no funds to build this so it has to be what I have sitting around... Wish me luck!)

Old school Jeep Scrambler body? It does line up almost perfect with the stock WB of the SCX10... BUT, The servo sits right behind where I would put the left light bucket so I think that is out, one headlight would be lame.

Just say you are building it Japaneese style and you had to remove it for the intake to feed your turbo.....

I have a Proline Bushwhacker body as well as this SWEET D90 hard body, but will need to reduce the wheelbase which I don't want to do. Also with the D90 It will sit higher then I care for with the interior intact.

Then of course the ever popular Hilux body that fits perfect on the SCX10... I'm tired of seeing all the Toyota full body builds (including the 2 I have done) and it doesn't thrill me to be among the legion. Don't get me wrong I love the Hilux body just been there bone that.

You could always say it has a burnt out headlight

OK here is what I've patterning the build from (of course mine will be 4-linked in the rear, 3 in the front). Bad ass Flat bed. Ben owned it for a while.

I hate brazing & I'm not a pro at it... but what the hell.

I think the D90 body with some custom mods would be nice. By the picture it looks like you could modify the rear wheel well to fit the wheelbase. I would also do a body chop to bring the roofline down some.

I love that body but I also would have to trim up the chassis a little to get it the height I want it to sit... And body mods right now hurts my brain. One day I'll do a build with that body.
