Default SCX10 Coles style

Well I've been running this rig around stock except for the steering kit & waned to do something different with it.
I couldn't run that stock lexan body anymore! So after cleaning thru my basement and finding a cut up Clod body.... I got an idea

I love desert trucks and always wanted to build one, but never did. So this rig is getting some pre-runner inspired features. Sorta my version of a KOH rig.

Plans include interior cage, bed cage, sliders & tube fenders flowing into a winch bumper.

Here's the start

Stayed up late & started on the bed cage

I'm just gonna run bedsides in the rear - desert style

Here you can see how the tube fender is gonna run into the bumper

I like how it's starting to shape up. I wanna tie the rear shocks into the bedcage & I think I'm gonna run RC4WD scale coilovers.

Not sure if I should raise the rear, cut out the fenders or both.

NICE! Coles, that is badass for sure dude! I love the open bedsides and the cagework is great. I say trim up those rear fenders so you can really stuff those tires and keep it the way the body's sitting right now. Great start Coles!

At least you don't have to worry about pushing that Cevy. And just think when it's done you can pull out all the F350 hi lift guys lol

Here's a link to my favorite '80's-bodied prerunner (it's 2wd, but the look is killer):

(the photos are too big to put in here without throwing the thread into double-wide mode) Maybe there's some inspiration there.

Thanks alot guys

Ben, you should get to see it in person next year!

Pete, that truck is sicc, thanks for the link.

Well the tube work is almost finished. It's gaining some much needed weight.

Interior cage

Bed cage

Opening tube doors!

O' crap handles and center console

My crooked bumper. I'm gonna fix it!

I really like how this rig sits. I raised the rear end a lil & changed tires (I think they fit it better). Still undecided on cutting the rear fenders

Or no fenders ;)

Rolling with two spares. Just not sure where to put them!?

That thing is looking sick so far. I like the tires horizontal like in the 2nd pic, but either way will look awesome!

i think you should put the tires the way they are in the first pic, dove tail the rear end, and keep the fenders on just my 2 cent

I like them opening tube doors! The tire arrangement in the first pic looks better. Oh and leave the rear fenders on

Did you move the trans back a bit to get the spur that close to the cab wall? It looks like it would be easy to hide with a bench seat or console.
