Default My turn, SXC-10 Hilux Truggy

Well after seeing Pinchflat and Kaetwo's Zachsbane sisters, I decided I had to build my own version, this is their evil, wicked step sister.

Of course I also have to pay homage to the OG Hilux/Tube bed rig, Badgers Flatbed.

Once I decided I wanted to do this build I called up Bender at Axial Racing and got myself an SCX-10 kit to put together.

With that down a quick call to Corey at RPP Hobby and got a HiLux cab, a Reign RC back wall/window, a couple of HiTec 645 servos, and some misc stuff.

I knew exactly what tires I wanted to run on this rig so I went to RC4WD's website and ordered up a set of the 1.9" RokLox, these tires not only look awesome, but from what I am told also perform very well.

My next call was to MSD for a Hand Bros chassis mounted servo kit.

I then called up the crew at Vanquish Products for one of their new Hurst Dig setups, that's right folks this rig will be getting dig. If I was building a 1:1 rig to this level it'd have dig too. If I decide to run this in a comp sometime and they don't allow it, so be it I'll unplug the servo. I'm building this rig for me, not strictly to run comps.

The next piece of the puzzle is actually something that has been sitting on my desk getting fondled for the last year, I have never had a rig worthy of mounting it to, but now things have changed. The coveted Quick Sand 8274 winch, just like mounted on Griz's truck Guido. I only hope I can build the rig to be worthy enough to have this sweet piece of equipment.

Once everything arrived and made it's way into my hands I put the kit together and sat the Hilux body on it, and there it sat until one day Shon from R2J Kustoms
came by and we worked out a deal. I knew after seeing several of the other rigs Shon built like Rodney's FJ Scaler that I'd love what he came up with.

I just got the chassis back from Shon and painted it flat black. The Reign rc cab back is in, a ton of body work has been done to the body, and it is currently sitting in it's 3rd coat of primer waiting for paint.

Hopefully over the next few days I can make some progress with this thing, but I won't be rushing anything.

Here are some pics as she sits now.

Nice, solid list of parts to go in/around that nice, solid tubework
You going to build a cage to protect the unobtainable winch?

The front bumper really does a good job of protecting it, I'll put the winch in it and snap a pic later.

Not sure I am going to keep the puller in there, I really like the stock motors that come in the SCX-10TR's. I just threw the puller in their for mock up.

That is some silver high strength string I got from the military supply store, not sure where the rest of the roll got put after the move, I'll see if it pops up.

Your tubework is second to none, all I did was show Tim 1 pic and he was sold. I am sure you'll have a list as long as you want it to be for a while, you do great work.

This is going to be a sick build Jason and that is some real nice tube work you've got to work with!
I like the dig idea, will just add to the fun factor!
