| Any suggestions balancing tires on my SCX10?? My tires seem to wobble when driving my truck, I've taken them apart a few times, it seems to get better, but not prefect. Bearings and everything are new so the problem is with the tires. I don't have any weights or anything on them. Just wondering if everybody else's does that or am I doing something wrong?? |

Maybe it is in the stubshafts... Otherwise a little tire wobble is pretty standard.

put a small washer in between the nut and the tire. You might be out of thread and it could be making the tire loose. On the tires is it a back and forth wobble or a side to side wobble?

Look at your rim (wheel) and make sure its looks true when spinning. If it is and its just the tire that has wobble, it normal. Its like like on a nitro RC where your going real fast. All my rock crawlers have had a little tire wobble.

The wheels spin true, wheel nuts are firmly against the wheels, just the tires have a side to side wobble, it's not terrible, I was just wondering if theres a way to eliminate this.

I say is normal... I had like 5 different tires with five different rims and they always do... bigger the tire more they do... the current ones I have now, are the best ones so far (Mud Trashers)

If you think it's bad come take a ride in my TJ first thing in the morning. Bias ply FTW! Keep in mind that the tires will develop "flat spots" from sitting to long and to get them out you need to run it. Do you have breather holes drilled? If you don't have breather holes it will be harder to get the spots out. But, as has been said, a little wobble is normal ... they are never perfect. |
