Default Are there bodies that fit over the tires?

Specifically, I want the SCX to look even more scale, by having smaller and less balloony tires and a large body that is wide enough to accommodate the front and rear track width of the chassis/wheels like a real truck. Anyone have any ideas?

Narrowed tlt axles, and a wide proline body usually does the trick.

Not an option for me right now, I want to stick with the SCX-10 parts.

Yes, this does seem like it may fit smaller tires within its wheel wells.

Can anyone else confirm that these bodies are wide enough such that tires like these: http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_...roducts_id=583
or these: http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_...roducts_id=827
will fit within the wheel wells of an SCX-10? I couldn't find the width specs on HPI's website.

EDIT: Towerhobbies says the Defender's body width is 197mm, track width of the SCX-10 is 230mm.

Your tire really wont matter, only your wheel offset will effect how much the tire sticks out past the fenders.

Hpi D90 fits ok and if you go all the way and replace wheels and tyres it will look even better...here is when with stock wheels...i've got a set of RC4WD trail busters as well but no pics with those on yet...they fit much better

This thread is relevant to my interests. Oh wait, I'm not on 4chan

What are these narrow TLT axle I hear mentioned? How much would they set me back? Also "axles" includes the case, the metal bits, the dif, etc., right? Would the same dif-lockers that go on a normal SCX10 thing work in this? NO? what would?

Alternately, about narrowness, you could always make your rig look like it was tricked out for arctic use:

My pipe dream atm is to eventually make an SCX10 short enough and a little bit lower that it can accommodate the Fastlane Hummer HX body which fits a 10.5 wb like a glove, but the chassis can't be longer than a CC01's is.

OT for a moment: anyone know the wb of the RC4wd T-runner body?

Might be a bit narrow for our purposes here but with a narrower chassis, it could work, maybe, yes?

TLT=Tamiya Little truck

They were the Axle back in the day they are a bit narrower then a axial and fit narrower bodies better then the axials do.

Non of the axial parts transfer to tamiya axles though. also Highlift axles would be a good option. they are just a bit larger then a tlt as they are based off the tlt but shaped differently.
