A few body off shots of the latest set-up I am running. I switched to 3 link front and rear for driveshaft clearance. I also flipped the transmission 180* so the driveshafts line up with the pumpkins on the axles. Added a panhard mount to the rear of the frame. Moved the electronics into one project box. I also found that the steering arm for the XR10's works for a shock extension for longer shocks. I added two of them to the rear upper shock mounts so the shocks are mounted more vertically now. I normally run my Vanquish DH wheels on this build, but I threw some plastic wheels back on to see if the weight of the axles is enough to help clear steep ledges or not. |

| Wow, that is a loaded box! I think I'll copy your dual box idea to make my life easier. I also don't know if the rear mount would work on the honcho anyway... Thanks for sharing!

This build is great! thanks for sharing. I'm in the process of swapping axles from a wraith over into my scx10 chassis and this thread has helped a TON! I couldn't seem to get my axles centered with the links that i've been trying to make and i'm going to try the suggested link lengths from on here. also what 3 link panhard kit did you use?

AX80034 X2 (Plastic comp shock parts tree) AXA1416 X1 (Grey 4mm spacers) AX30518 X1 (Grey 98mm links) AX80011 X1 (Driveshafts) AX80043 x1 (4 Link parts tree) but i see those lil small links on the end there but they arent listed lol sorry for the repeated questions it looks like youre running these? The links are still the same length, but I did go from a 4 link front and rear to 3 link. The rear lower links are 106mm Axial steering links with the addition of the shorter link you mentioned to. Hope that helps.

Awesome build, it has definitely been an inspiration to a lot of us out hear. I knew from the very first video you posted of it on YouTube that I had to build one. I will start a thread for it soon. Thank you for sharing your excellence! Last edited by WraithVader; 06-07-2013 at 12:01 AM. |

I do like it a lot better for general bashing / trail running. The original Honcho is fun too, but on a different level. The overall width really depends on the wheels you use. The Vanquish wheels are nice because you can change the hubs to dial in the overall width to your personal liking.

Bender Would shorting the upper links to new mounting points in frame throw the geometry off enough to notice or limit travel? I would prefer to keep 4link setup and this is my only solution. A better explanation of shorten...I'm thinking from the frame rails highest point to somewhere in the down angle. Just enough to clear the drive shaft at full compression. Does this make sense? Thanks for the reply |

Bender, There is one picture I don't see that would help me with my current wroncho build. I see you're using a vanquish pan hard kit on the front axle, I would also like to do this. How is your panhard bar mounted to the SCX10 Chassis?
