Since Kaetwo and PinchFlat always seem to come up with their rigs that are practically the same and Big Bear and I are in the same club as them we decided to come up with an answer to their new rigs, the Mules. Introducing, the Donkey Kickers. We started off with the stock SCX10 Kit, added a couple alloy goodies but they are basically stock. We wanted to get the flat bed nice and low so the first thing was to get the shocks inboard. We used Kaetwo's basic setup for it and I have to say it works awesome. Then it was off to tube work, that's what pictures are for though. There's much more planned. Styrene Box to cover the tranny and mount a spare to it, interior, winch, mine needs the chassis mounted steering servo figured out, sand ladders, snorkels, exhaust stack, lights, etc. |

This is mine with finished tube work. I still have to clean it up a bit and add nuts for boat sides and for wheel well covers but it's getting close. |

Looks good Zach. These trial trucks have always interested me. I guess the cab is the only thing really above the center of gravity... it balances well as is so far?

Over all the whole plan was to have great looks and amazing performance. I know they don't look like much now but I've built a ton of rigs and I'm very excited how these are turning out. As of right now I'm expecting these to be competing in Montana. I can't wait until we get some paint on them. They I think the pictures might do them justice.

Are you running the stock SCX wheelbase or did you stretch the rear at all? I think a Pro-Line Recon body would look good on there as well. |

We looked at the Recon body but the problem is covering the cab after you cut the rear end off.

Damn,do you guys ever slow down? I can't seem to get one finished and you're pumping them out by the week. Builds look great but, that doesn't look like corsa gray to me. |

I did a bit of testing with the Corsa Gray. TERRIBLE! Mustard Yellow was too perfect. At least on my screen it doesn't show the color perfectly but it turned out better than I could hope for. I painted the inside black and the outside yellow with a dull coat on last. With the black backing it gave it a lot of depth and as it scratches is should look cool.
