Arrow Need ESC mounting help

I have the SCX-10TR, being on a budget and having a temperamental esc, I replaced it with the traxxas xl-5 waterproof. I've looked around a little since I know some of you have the xl-5 but haven't seen where anyone has mounted one. I looked at mounting it to the top of my reciever box, but the box has too many ridges in it.

Any help? Not sure where else I could mount it....

Over top of the rear axle where it goes from the factory.

Thanks for the pics previously posted as well, I guess i'll end up doing that as well, just was hoping something else might work a little better.

You can build a scale gas tank, speaker box or cooler and stick it in there... Here's what i did. I made a speaker box out of styrene and stashed it inside. I am using the Sidewinder by CC...

My thread is here....

I am not very artistic and I think it came out ok..lol

Good luck!

Very cool idea man, thanks for that. I went ahead with the help of awd199 and mounted it to the reciever box, standing up on the backside of it. Seems like it'll work ok for now. Time to get 'er wet a little.

I did the same thing but hot glued it there, servo tape and double sided tape wasn't wanting to to cooperate.

I've really not got to use the truck much since installing the traxxas esc, weather has sucked temp-wise for some time now. Got her out for about an hour yesterday though at a local place some guys take their 1:1 Jeeps/etc, that was tons of fun haha, got her absolutely nasty but man to be stock it done amazing.

Hit some water/mud today....just about sunk her once. Oh well

Pics, was gonna get a good pic of her with the tires still on but forgot to, they are already cleaned up and spotless again....can't say the same for the truck.

This puddle was frozen over....drove all the way across lol, didn't know how deep it was so that was sort of scary.

I moved my battery to the front mount and then mounted the esc on the rear crossmember, i think it works out pretty good. you will need to add an extension onto the the wires that goto reciever tho.

Yeah lol for sure, cleaning it has been hell since its cold as ever outside and don't really have anywhere warm besides the house to clean it. Its semi-clean now though, i'll run the rest of the dirt off it lol.
