god dammit i had forgotten how much fun cutting lexan bodies is!!! [/sarcasm]

i got a perfectly good CGR blazer body and cut the interior out of it. trimmed it down so it'll fit right, gotta braze on some nuts to attach it with. so it'll probably wait til Wednesday or so when iv got a day off.ss

interior is cut, painted and installed, an 87t spur gear clears it by about 2mm. frame/cage is sandblasted and painted. i threw the suspension/axles/wheels on it along with the body for a mock up fitment. everything looks great so far. tomorrow i'll work on electronics placement. a hopefully have it running for SinCityRCRC's comp saturday...

painted, not sure what i'm gonna do with that area behind the seats... we'll see.

you can barely see it, but yes, the interior is zip-tied in, pure lazyness...

sitting a little high right now. when loaded she'll sit quite a bit lower...

proline used to make them, they're discontinued. it started life as a full bodied, hard top scout as seen earlier in this thread. the pL came out with the CGR version which got discontinued as well. its actually an earlier scout 80. (1960s) i had it sitting on a shelf for a couple yrs before i touched it.

ok so it made its maiden voyage yesterday since the rebuild. only broken part was a stripped plastic servo horn which was replaced by an aluminum one when i got home.

i've still gotta mount the winch, lights, add some scale details, etc... but im glad its running.

It's been kind of a slow build thread, easy to miss I guess.

good to know...

got the headlights mounted today. shouldn't have painted it, ive already got a couple of things that need to be brazed on, a dummy winch mount for the front bumper and a servo winch mount under the hood. im sure i'll think of more stuff that needs to be added.

well, ive put about 10 packs through the scout and im really liking it so far. i havent touched it between runs at all, no wrenching what so ever. i wanted to see how well it'd hold up. so farthe only problem ive got is some serious slop in the fron axle ive gotta figure out. the driveline turns 1/2 turn or more before the tires move at all. i'm pretty impressed with the SCX10 chassis/suspension setup. (this being the first axial product ive ever purchased )

i have found a few things that it needs:
-i need a slightly taller tire, no problem
-the front bumper has to go, starting that tonight
-gotta get a winch hook to i can use the winch servo i just mounted
-need to finish the interior back behind the seats

Well get on with it then!

Good to see your having fun with the scaler Scott, there's nothing quite like them.

For your winch hook you can just bend up a "S" hook and braze or weld up the end, that's what I did on mine. It is super easy, very strong and a lot cheaper then those other hooks.
