upper link length for honcho with 4-link truss any body know the upper link length for the honcho kit with the Axial 4-link truss? id like to get some links made before my kit shows up and be able to drop it straight in when im building it |
I was wondering the same thing. I think the stock links should work though. Axial's add on their web site should say if the truss requires longer links. |
6x98MM "thumbsup" |

Accoring to this tech article on the Axial blog, the uppers need to be 20mm longer than stock. He used a 7x20mm post to extend the links. http://axialracing.com/wordpress/200...nk-axle-truss/ |

Ditto, 98mm will be a perfect fit. Mine are 98mm on the top and they have a nice pinion angle."thumbsup" |
well weather you add 20mm or a whole 89mm link you can always add some spacers to perfect pinion angle i think im gonna get some 90mm carboms made from Zach @ BLC |

this comes up alot and most of the time you see 98's or 106's ...I run 98's but can see where 106's would give you more clearance on the pinion .....so take your pick and let us know what u did wish Axial would just tell us whats best  |
Run the 106mm Great clearance with no binding"thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup" http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...l/IMG_3809.jpg |
hell ill just have to expierment with what i like, ill post up in my thread what i like |
I cut some brake line a quarter of an inch longer that the stock rear lower links, installed the new custom lower links and then used the stock lower links up top and it works perfect. It is hardly noticeable how much longer it is but man it has way more travel. "thumbsup" |
I did some measuring and I think the 106mm would be better. I think the 98mm are to short. Anyone else feel this way? What is everyone running for the lower links? I think it is 114mm. Is this right? |

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=232972 I did the whole deal about a month ago. The rear was a snap, 98mm links top and 106mm links on the bottom with the stock Axial 4 link truss. Works great no issues and suspension is everything you want in a 4 link with an improved pinion angle. |

Sorry to resurrect and old thread, but can someone tell me is the 106 or 98 from eye to eye? I think ima make my own and would like to know that length. |
Re: upper link length for honcho with 4-link truss Ok, if you look at the 313mm Aluminum upgrade kit for the Honcho, you will see there are 3 of the longest links, 2 for the lower rears and one for the Tie Rod. These are the 106mm tubes and their plastic counterparts are 130mm. So I figure each set of Rod Ends = 24mm The second longest set of tubes are 98mm so I figure with rod ends it must be 122mm for the front lowers. Then you will see various Aluminum spacers. The longest set of these spacers come 4 to a kit. They have to be the Uppers. They are 60mm and adding 24mm once again would make the upper front and rear links 84mm. - Low Front 122mm - Low Back & Tie Rod 130mm - Upper Front & Rear 84mm I hope I have this right. If not then let me know so I can fix it. AX30550 http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/1101/ax30550.jpg |
