Default GMC Topkick body w/interior & extended wheelbase!

As soon as Pro-Line released this body, I knew I had to have one. Unfortunately, the wheelbase is way off. I used the bottom rear links in place of the uppers and made my own set for the bottom ones. It's off by just a hair, but it's close enough for me. I had to change the front body mounts as the truck has a very short hood and long windshield. Leaving the old ones in place would have them in the middle of the windshield. I used a set of 4Tec mount posts. I also cut apart a toy jeep to use as the interior and robbed the tubes bumpers also. I also had a figure laying around who will get a paintbrush makeover. The truck body will be Parma FasRed to match the F-350 shocks and rings on the beadlocks. Take a look...

Showing the posts....

I also had to cut up an extra driveshaft to extend it a bit...

Interior bits....

Body trimmed out.

Driver and interior....don't worry the interior is going to get a coat of paint, too.

I'll be able to remove the body and interior in one piece easily for battery changes. This thing is going to be my main running body. It's going to get BEAT ON!

Flex shot!

I've been hoping someone would do a build with the Topkick. The interior fits great. Cool, I'm watching.

Got a little more work done on it last night. Mostly putting more masking on parts and a second coat on the body. I also decided to detail the dash and add some red accents. The driver also got a makeover. Now he looks more the part!

Goody two-shoes!

Bad ass crawler! Not done with this guy yet.....

Dash looks better with the trim...

Found some light covers to add a touch of realism....

Waiting for the seats to dry; gotta put some red trim on those as well....

I got some major stuff done today! The body is all painted up and I put on the front and rear bumpers. The front bumper is one for a HPI Savage and the rear one is off the toy jeep that I hacked up. I started painting the interior; just have to wait for the first coat to dry.

Got the dash finished. Just minor details....

Laid the paint on the interior. Put first coat on the center console....

First coat on the seat trim...

Close up of the front bumper.

Topkick flexin'!

Booty shot.

Overhead shot.

It's looking good so far. Have you thought about doing front cut outs where the lights are and making the light buckets with styrene? I think it would really make the front end come together nicely.

Yes those are Losi 2.2's mounted on Pro-line beadlocks. I like the looks a little better with the 2.2's. The 1.9's looked a little small. This body is actually made to be used on a T or E Maxx. I don't care, I had to give this body a try....

I have a set of chrome light buckets that I may use in the future on this rig. Right now, I just want to get the interior done and ready to run. My Bro-in-law is coming down this weekend so I gotta be ready for some scale trailin'!

Default Got the interior done!

I got everything painted, dried with a hair dryer, and glued into place. I think it looks pretty good! Just too bad, when everything's inside the cab, you don't notice all the details. Anyways, here's some action pics on my indoor micro course....

Seats done

Driver ready!

Dash installed

Some finished interior pics...

Indoor crawlin' on the micro course!

Just one more addition! I had these mirrors on another body, but I won't be using it until I change the wheelbase back to stock again. I think they look good on this truck, (even though they're Ford mirrors). Pics!
