Talking "beater" honcho

here she is...the "beater"
rode hard and and well used!

when i got the truck, the paint was "blown out".
"smelled like killz to me"

a cracked rear half of cab.
"i repaired with another scrap piece of lexan."

truck was dirty, wiring job was an osha inspectors dream come true.

soo..i was a lil miffed..but being me,i decieded to make lemonade.

so i got my cleaning utensils...got it cleaned up..

straightened up the wiring..

drained the swamp water out of the tires..

got out my model paints, old soldering iron..to make trail badges!!

*becareful if you try this yourself, you can ruin a body quick like!!*
"have an idea of where the rocks scrape and gouge the body panels
before you start"

apply the tip of soldering iron(i used 25wt iron) till plastic starts
to get warm, and then drag "rock rash" on your body.

*if you have an older body,id practice on it first*

want rusty spots, just hold the tip of the iron in the place you like
and just as it starts to go thru, pull it off, look at it,and adjust to your liking while its still warm.

*have something to help push back from the inside(i used a piece of delrin rod with rounded end),incase youve gone to far, while the plastic is still warm you can rub it around like thick butter
and fix a hole if you dont like it.*

after that..look it over..remember "moderation"
too much, is just too much.

i used tamiya paints..
xf-56 met grey
xf-64 red brown

and model master 4679 steel
polly scale "rust"

apply the steel and metallic first, then do your rust and red brown.

my method..dab it-wipe excess with thumb, move on to next one.

enjoy!

specs..
2c lipo 1300-2100mah
spektrum rec
novak rooster esc
45t motor
3r winch (soon to be spooled with my syn winch line)
cheap fut servo(soon to be replaced by hitec)
losi light buckets
rc4wd steel beadlocks1.9
1.9 rok loks
steel bumpers and sliders should be here today
4 linked the rear
axial c's(hi steerknuckles coming)
axial alum shock bodies coming also

thanks!
