Default Szczerba's Cherokee (Minus some doors)

Well, just about every cherokee'd rig I have seen on the board has all it's doors. Not mine. Loosely based on Rusty's Orange XJ.

I have been working about an hour a night on this for the past week. First try at a styrene interior, just working my way through it. Using a mix of .060 and .030. Just putting in two front seats for now. I can't squeeze in two rears due to the wheel wells, and i don't wanna make new ones. Made a frame mount for the servo too.

Still need to box in the axial transmission, box up the rear wheel wells, finish up the dash, and make a front bumper. All the electronics will be boxed up and hidden from the water.
The SCX-10 sliders will get cut down. Also, I will be fabbing up an interior cage with 5/32" styrene solid rod.
Rok Lox for now, swampers in the future. Got the wheelbase set too. Also, the front is 1/2" wider on each side. Keeping it that way for now. Painted the wheels primer grey and oranged out the rings.

Sorry for the blurry pics, in a hurry. And everything is still in mock-up mode. And you scale guys better not bust my balls on my ghetto styrene work !

I didn't think it would look good as a door-less lexan body, but I likes it!

That is a cool idea! Looks like it's coming along nicely too.
Just make sure you brace at least the B pillars with your styrene sheet/rod for better support during rollovers!

Yep, That's where the 5/32" and 3/16" solid styrene rod cage will come into play. Just waiting on the mail man for it.

Loving the look, something different with the Cherokee.

It reminds me of a friends Cherokee he goes 4 wheeling with.

Thanks guys. I'll get in about another hour of work tonight. Working on finishing up boxing in the transmission. Glue is setting today.

Thanks. Just waiting on some 5/32" and 3/16" styrene rod to show up. Wanna keep it lite as possible, in stead of using metal for the tube work. Just have to see how the styrene rod will be for support.
The front bumper will be metal.

And I was at the lake tonight so no further updates. I'll get some good work done this weekend.
