questions about a Hilux for my scx10

I'm SUPER new and don't know much about this stuff. i have the scx10 honcho tr and want to get a hard body. probably the Hilux. i have several questions about it though and figured id ask the pro's.

Q: Does the Hilux fit the scx10 without doing tons of mods?

Q: Where can i get one with all the parts ill need? (grill, etc...) Does somebody have one for sale that's their old one that i can still repaint and stuff myself?

Q: Where do you have to set up your battery and electronic box located?

Thanks a ton!

this is my rig now,

OK

Question # 1:
Yes it does, not sure if any mods on links from the tr, because I extnended my wheel base. But it should fit nicely without major mods.

Question # 2:
www.rpphobby.com is where I ordered my stuff from(Cab, Bed, Grille, Bumpers, Light Lenses) they also have snorkels, pocket flares, and other acc's for the Hilux body.

Question # 3:
Mine are in the same place as the TR Honchos location.

The only thing is mounting, there is a lot info on here showing you how to do that.

Heres mine"thumbsup" http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-scx-10/260634-t-lux.html

You will need to get your own screws and front bracket. Screw bag is like 32.00 Or glue everything .

I jus used some spare screws I had

maverick2107 07-25-2010 09:43 PM

thanks, i dont have any extra screws but thanks.

I have another question. Where the drive shaft connects to the trans it seems like the tinny screw keep getting loose so the drive shaft pops off. ive even tried lock tight. i drilled a small indent in the trans portion to help the screw sink in but i dont know what else to do. any idea's?

Alot of people use different shafts, seems to still be the week point. Do a search and you will see, you will find a lot of answers.
