FLASCX10: Project Thread I just got my first r/c crawler, been into r/c for a long time, just never crawlers. Its a rtr honcho all stock except running on 2s lipo and a pro-line light bar. I am very happy with it, cant wait to get some bigger shocks(thinking pro-lines) and some aluminum links. Just ordered a cb antenna, pro-line roof rack and a light kit. most likely going with a novak crawler motor/esc soon, and i have a waterproof servo that is ready to put in. I attatched some pics of the maiden voyage. I do have a 1:1 scale 1996 Wrangler as you can see in one of the pics so I do know a lot about crawling and off-road senarios. any tips/comments are welcome. Right out of the box http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...105_121950.jpg In the sand, with light bar added. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...105_131407.jpg Under some bushes http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...105_132011.jpg First rock crawl http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...106_113315.jpg With my Slash 4x4-mamba monster, 3s lipo, rpm...EVERYTHING lol and Proline trenchers on pro-line beadlocks http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...105_134032.jpg With my 1:1 scale Jeep. Brand new 35"s, winch, bumper, rear spare bumper/tire mount, 6" lift, locker in rear, ect http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...105_132628.jpg |
I went out for a trail run today, I think it went rather well. Ran into some sand and then mud and water after the rain the other day. Got a little deep for a stock RTR. Im pleased "thumbsup" http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...109_134621.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...109_135442.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...109_134944.jpg Having a little trouble, but made it through http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...109_135848.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...109_140341.jpg |
Good looking rig ... and I really like the red YJ. |
Sweet rig! I agree the YJ is awesome! |
Got some new goodies today. Light kit came in, and CB antenna from RPP came in. Lights are super bright. 8) The CB antenna came faster than I thought. Here are some pics. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...110_135946.jpg Bright with the flash on, taken with Driod. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...110_135846.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...110_135530.jpg Still waiting on the Pro-Line roof rack, and winch is next. |
Hey guys, Did some aftermarket "performance" work and some sound add-ons today. Got the stuff from some old Dub City cars that I had from way back, still working on exhaust. And Pro-Line Roof Rack came in. Let me know what you guys think, i just bought some little accessories like fire ext, rifle, keg, ect. and im thinking next is the Novak system. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...114_141355.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...114_141343.jpg New roof rack, its a little too tall for my liking, im thinking about putting light bar infront of the rack. The wiring was somewhat difficult to hide the wires and make it look as scale as possible. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...114_142713.jpg Positives off to one side and negatives off to the other, and then they go into a hole into the cab to 9V power supply. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...114_142721.jpg Any comments, tips are welcome. Still in progress...... |
Looking good bud, can't wait to get mine ordered and up and running, we have to go to the compound sometime. |
Oh yea. Bullet mountain at Whickham park is a good place with rocks, sand, and a little mud. We should go there too |

oh yea, sounds good."thumbsup" |
Time for another update. I had a VXL system out of my slash after upgrading that system, so I put the ESC in the SCX10, along with a brand new Traxxas waterproof digital servo to complete the waterproofing process. I am super happy with it, it runs SO much smoother than stock at super crawler speeds, and runs quieter that stock. I did have to grind a tiny bit of the ESC's cooling vents to be able to slip it behind the motor, and I made sure that this didnt affect the ESC at all. Mounted ESC http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...115_204507.jpg Traxxas servo http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...115_204449.jpg Thinking of an Exhaust idea, yay or nay????? http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...115_234927.jpg I wanted something different with my taillights, so I used an old Wal-Mart gift card from last year and made this. (all parts accept card came in the box) http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_004506.jpg Two black screws are holding lights in place, and the white one in the middle is holding card to the plastic peice. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_005118.jpg Under View http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_005124.jpg Another one so you get the idea http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_005129.jpg Body On http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_005245.jpg Light buckets on roll bar are waiting LEDs http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_005317.jpg Tips and tricks welcome, thanks guys!!! |
Awesome, yeah that's pretty cool how your giftcard tail light set came out, I like. "thumbsup" |
thanks man, its so easy, even a caveman can do it. :lmao: |
So easy I can do it, haha. |
Went out for a test of all the new electronics. They ran great, I had a small wiring issue(my fault) but was fixed in no time. I am very pleased with the results. Standing water, the deepest I could get today was at the top of the tire, going to either have to wait for rain, or find another spot to do a water run. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_103051.jpg Dropping in http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_103416.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_103425.jpg A winch is one of the next things on my list. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_105727.jpg Hill climb http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_124126.jpg Liked these shots, I got a good video on my Driod, but half way through the pipe, the signal was messed up because of the pipe, and the steering started twiching out and it gunned it in reverse. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_124020.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_124044.jpg Here is the video, not that interesting, but whatever... http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...116_124210.jpg Let me know what you guys think |
That's awesome bud, man I can't wait for my kit to come in so I can get it together and we can hit the trails together. |
Hey Chris, what shocks do you plan on running? I've heard the proline shocks are pretty good. |
Leaning toward the Pro Line ones, they don't seem bad. Stock ones don't seem bad either for right now but this is me where talking about so I better start planning for shocks soon, haha. |
Exhaust yes. Looks a bit out of place where you've got it though..... Check out my thread http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-scx-10/275518-siths-new-honcho.html for what I did. |
UPDATE: Got some more goodies in today. Got the keg, propane can, and bungie set it, as well as rifle, fire ext, and jack set from Hobby Gear, got it all mounted up and it looks sick imo. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...118_002137.jpg And I also was messing around with my Slash and SCX10 today, and remembered that both sets of rims and tires on them are both 1.9 scale, so I swapped them, the only thing i dont like is the blue beadlock ring on the green Honcho ;-). Looks sweet tho. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...118_010324.jpg (Slash is for sale BTW, PM me if interested) http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...118_010443.jpg |
