Newbie with lots of pics...
 

I picked up a TR for my 4yr old son as a random purchase at my LHS. I wanted something slower than a slash (even in training mode) and it was what they recommended. Well after running it for "safety check" for hours and hours....I was hooked. I ended up picking a Honcho kit for myself and have not looked back since...:twisted:

May I ask where? I believe SCRC crawls there occasionally.
Also, if you ever wanna crawl inside hobbytown USA in Orland Park has a nice indoor course, its a sprtsman course but it really puts scalers to the test. i used to run every sunday.

My honcho kit and all my electronics arrived today. Been building for 4 hours, and i stopped to go to sleep at the step where its time to put the chassis together. Ill finish it tomorrow after work, and paint it thursday.

It's by Batavia .....I'll have to check out Orland park as soon as I get another project started. I made the mistake of joining this forum so I am eager to start a Hilux build...

Muahahaha you're hooked! :mrgreen: Trust me, you will want to do a build for everything, a hilux, a land rover, a jeep, the F350 high lift... it just goes on, and on, and on... :roll:

I love old industrial buildings, great for some urban exploring

we dont have that much here in the netherlands, because we have such a small country and 17 million folks living in it we have a lack of space.
so when a building is old and empty it gets knocked down pretty fast

I can spend hours using google street view and look at the empty industial buildings in detroit, lots of em

Alot of those old buildings have been re-purposed as offices, police station/city hall, ect.

I finally drove over that way last week and checked it out, looks like a fun place to play.....when it's over 40* and not snowing:ror: Now IIRC, there's a restaurant not too far from there that was once one of Al Capone's hideouts from when he was running Chicago decades ago.

How did you relocate the spare tire on the TR?

It look like he just took the cross bar that holds the spare and bolted that to the back of the shell"thumbsup"

Cool that 's The Batavia Dam. It's a little flat but I do think it would be sweet place to have a rock race.
