SCX 10 Build
 

Just received my SCX 10 from my local hobby shop today. Started the build with a few mods. CKRCC chubs and high steer knuckles. All I could build today my seven month old crew chief had enough and started to fuss. So I had to stop. Will continue build with photos when time permits. Hear are a few photos for all to enjoy.

Yeah kids can put a damper on the building process of these things, that why when mine were little I waited till they went to bed"thumbsup"

Just use the "Paint" program and do Ctrl + W to stretch/skew the photos. Just be sure to do it proportionally...like downsize both by 75%, 60%, etc.

Got a photo to take and post. Shocks are to long they are 120 mm shocks from my ax10. Going to build the factory set and see how 90 mm shocks look. any way let me know what yall think

120mm shocks are way too long for an scx chassis, the 90mm's on the other hand are pefect"thumbsup"

using iphoto any idea how to resize

I use imageshack to upload and rezise.
fairly easy to use.

those shocks are too long not to mention the drive line angle sucks, its gonna be very tippy like that, and well.... 2.2s suck on scx's.

It'll work but you wont be satisfied with the performance. It'll sway and not to mention it'll be top heavy. I'd agree 2.2 look abit big on the scx.

ok u need to do some things 1st the shocks are a little on the tall side 2nd if ur gona run the 2.2s id strech the wheelbase to 12.75 at least but i like the idea of 2.2 slingers on a honcho

how do you stretch the wheel base?
having a few steering issues to. I used a BTA kit from CKRCC and the with is much wider here is a pic of the steering linkage. Going to have to make a new one any one know a source to get the blank links from will cut to fit. Here are a few more photos 1.9 for ref.

Things to fix shocks steering plastic dip JR DS8711 servo.


Motor and speed control is traxxaas velineon 3500 KV with a VXL-3S speed control and a 3s Tenergy 2200mah 25c LiPo.

90mm shocks
 

got a chance to build the stock 90mm shocks here are the photos looks like some body trimming is in order. Cant wait for the bumpers and rock sliders from DH Fab. Also waiting on the new iwatwa power jet pro airbrush compressor and sherline lathe and mill to come in then let the hacking begin.

That looks way better than it did. If you just took out the springs on those shocks, it would work good because when those shocks are sunk down they are just about as big or bigger then the stock shocks extended. I have the same exact shocks. I went down in length in shocks.

And you should get some 2.2 super swampers if you gonna have any 2.2 tires on. I have 1.9 super swampers and stock AX10 shocks. Heres a picture:

I would have to agree here. The idea of a scaler should be to stay as true to dimension as you can. 1.55 and 1.9 are great for 1/10 scale vehicles, but 2.2 are pushing the limits. Of course, it's your truck, so you should do whatever makes YOU happy.

In regards to the shocks, I think anything over 100mm gives too much clearance and I wouldn't even go 100mm unless I were running the new 1.9 Boggers because they're almost 5" tall!

The truck looks much better with the stock shocks! Keep the build coming!

those swampers look awesome. I wonder if i can return the 2.2 set up for a 1.9 wheels and tires have only been used for mocup. If not they will have to go on my timber wolf.

you got anything at all in those super swampers vintagecopal ?

i wouldnt even run 100mm shocks with the new boggers, i ran 2.2 rock claws in the snow (5.2in tall) with stock 90mm shocks and they barely rubbed and thats a half inch taller than the boggers and a lot wider! i think itd be perfect with 90mm shocks
