Default scx 1.9's diff hub than an ax10 2.2?

I am piecing together an scx10. I bought the wheels used and the axles used. Is there a difference in hub size between an ax10 and an scx10? The hex seems to be the same, but the small round part of the hub seems larger on my ax10 with 2.2's than the hole in the 1.9 wheel. Just wondering if I need to get scx specific hubs to mount my 8-holes. Thanks

The hubs on the scx are thinner, but the 2.2's will still bolt right up with no issues. The 1.9's will not bolt to the AX-10 hubs because of how the hub is machined. You could probably drill out the center of the 1.9, then use the aluminim washer, but it all depends on how thick the center section of the 1.9 wheels are. If its too thin the hub nut may not tighten down.

The issue I am having is the round part of the hub won't go through the center of my wheel. Not really a problem other than I can't get the hub cover (fake hub) to thread on because there isn't enough thread left to get a hold of.

The scx hubs are flat, and the ax hubs have the shoulder on them.

X1. If you want to use 2.2 ax10 wheel, use the ax10 hub. Other than that I would suggest to get the new scx10 hub. It is more universal.

Running the scx wheels on the ax hubs will womp the wheels out because of the surface contact, they will probably work for awhile.

Grind the round part off so nothing but the hex is left, or buy the SCX hexes which are about $5.99 for a set of four.

Are you referring to the wheel hex? If so, then yes, you will need to shave/grind the tit off the AX10 hex.

AX10 hex

SCX10 hex

perfect, exactly what I was looking for. Two of the hexes on my axles don't even fit the shaft anyway, I'll ust buy the scx10 hubs, it will bring the wheels in a bit anyway. Thanks for all your replies.
