Default Newb with ESC questions

Hey everyone, hope you all had a nice holiday. Anyway, some of you may have seen my Honcho/Commanche on here. Well, I burned up the ESC today while playing in the snow. I'm looking to get some opinions on a replacement. I'm looking for something waterproof that will work with the rest of my stock RTR electronics. I'd also like something with a LiPo cutoff since I'll be getting one eventually, but its not an absolute necessity. I'm going to upgrade the rest of the electronics as I go, but since I'm on a college student budget, I'm doing it on an as needed basis. So what I'm really after I guess is the best bang-for-the-buck unit that's waterproof and will support future upgrades. Thanks in advance!

Welcome and Happy Holidays, fellow Pa member, I'm thinking that I remember reading somewhere that the new traxxas XL5 esc is now lipo compatible and waterproof, check online you should be able to confirm.

Thanks! I've been doing some searching reading on here and that seems to be pretty popular. I'm going to look into it.

It is more money but it is more versatile as well, with a smaller footprint, look at the Holmes Hobbies BRXL I think it's called. Basically a brushed only Sidewinder that has been waterproofed and made to work with the crawlers a little better. Typically I'm a Tekin guy but the waterproof part made me swing this way for the scale truck.
