MIP shaft problem i just installed my Mip cvd splines and when i tried it out the car wobbles and jerks i cant seem to find the problem i dont see any rubbing anywhere |
You need to line up the pins, you have the shafts clocked. |
i did its still jerking..could it be something else? |
Make sure the spur gear isn't hitting one shaft, it's a close fit and non-stock spurs can easily hit, a little creative filing will fix if that's the issue. Did everything spin free with the shafts off? No extra loctite stuck in there or anything? Not having the pins on the shaft in a straight line with each other is most common though. |

with a stock spur, when a pin wiggles out, it hits. might heatshrink if there is clearance. take the assemblies apart and see if it binds up from moving them by hand. might be a metal burr in the way somewhere. |
Also make sure you didn't push the pinion in. If you push the pinion in when you slide the driveline on it screws up the mesh of the ring & pinion. This will cause chatter."thumbsup" |
slapped on the stocks again and its running fine idk whats wrong with the cvds |
The movement of the CVD can be very stiff when new and also after you get gunk stuck in them from wheeling. I try and spray them out after every time I wheel with WD40....It's a pain though because it is much, much better to have them off when doing this so you don't get WD all over everything.....I swear by this method. My rig kinda acts grumpy when I fail to keep them perfectly clean and lightly oiled....It's worth the extra work to take them off first! Other than that, you should have initially put them together with the correct Grease for the inner collar and put lock-tite on the grub screw... GL!!! C H |
