Are you going to run the Hand Bros. steering?

the Vanquish Products "zero ackerman" aluminum knuckes are hard as hell to find. I bet the Christmas rush had a good part to play in that. any zero ackerman knuckle will foot the bill on most setups. "high steer" being second most desireable on the list, and aluminum replacements 3rd. sometimes a BTA or behind the axle setup requires that you use a high steer or better yet 0 ackerman (think parallel tires up front, not the outside steering less tight than the inside, but both steering like as far as how the inside knuckles can move) for better steering on the cheap, without cvd's or knuckles or even your links, get some steel output shafts that are made about 1/16" shorter, it will make a nice difference for $11 invested. i think axial produces them, i cant remember. just read a LOT of build threads and see what combos look like what you want to use... |

VP Zero ackermans (which are the only zero ackermans made except for felsenfest) won't work with 1.9 wheels and the HB steering kit doesn't work well with high clearance arms. Might work if ran under the arm, but there went high clearance. Axial knuckles and C's are probably my first choice on these, VP black does blend with stock plastic great though, if not using the HB kit I'd probably recommend VP.

If not using the HB kit, yes. You'll have to fab a new drag link and tie-rod.

| http://www.axialracing.com/details.php?Id=3943 You can see how I modified my hand bros kit to work with high steer knuckles in my SCX10 build thread. |

I run the Axials on my 1.9's and VP's on my 2.2. You'll have clearance issues with the VP zero ackerman and 1.9's. I also use a Hand Bros CMS and have no issues with the high clearance knuckles.
