| "lil Sammie" TTC LWB Suzuki Samurai This build is not going to take a long time... Don't miss the badass video in post 10!! First off let me thank Kaetwo for building this cage/chassis for me over a year ago. And let me apologize for just now posting a build thread. It has occured to me recently that I have missing out on the great times to be had with this rig. So to start the build thread off here is what I am working with.

| Definitely not giving up the XR. We got a comp coming up this weekend. We just have to have something else to do in our spare time. Give me about 5min and you'll see. |

Now, fast-foward about a year. Enter "lil Sammie" TTC LWB Suzuki Samurai. Didn't care for looks of the "Rock Beast" tires as they look to much like monster truck tire. Though I do have to say they perform excellent. Much better. Here's a couple swag pics |

So to make this an official build thread I'll throw a little tech in here. My water proofing techniques are very simple and similar to others. I use dielectric grease on absolutly everythings insides. Servo - Filled the servo's case and I also did the o-ring mod there with dielectric grease on it then slipped over the output shaft of the servo. Closed it up siliconed it shut. Reciever - Filled with dielectric grease. Then bagged and tagged it. ESC - Already waterproofed. Nothing required with mine. Connectors - All connectors were ffilled and coverd with dielectric grease. Motor - sprayed it down with Fluid Film. Battery - Plasti-Dipped | |

If you couldn't tell already, "lil Sammie" has no drag brake. So, I ordered a Water-proofed BRXL from Holmes to replace the xl-5 to remedy this. Per Holmes' website: Comes stock with Auto lipo LVC, Full drag brake, instant reverse, and 100% reverse throttle settings. 1 year warranty 2s to 6s lipo input onboard 6v 5a switchmode BEC 46x34x20mm 38 grams (with battery wires) Brushed only 80a continuous, no single 540 motor limit Reverse and brake adjustment Regenerative Drag Brake Active Hold Brake (The Holmes Hold!) Quiet mode Dual motor supers, go fast racers, wheel speed trail junkies, pullin mofo's, and any brushed fanatic will love it! Super easy Stick programming. Fully Computer programmable via Castle Creations Castle Link with instant firmware upgrades! **Waterproofing disclaimer** Due to the nature of use, waterproofed ESCs will only have a 60 day warranty. There will be an additional 3 to 5 business day wait for waterproofing, as it is done on a per-order basis. Details Last edited by limited77; 02-22-2011 at 09:15 PM. |
