Melons came in fourth... not bad considering the competition. |

I took Melons out to the lakefront today. It's the first time I've broke down in ages... well, a set screw came loose on the trans output. The MIP had been on so long that I couldn't get it off and had to remove the trans! |

I've been missing my dig unit... I took it out because it's not legal in C2, was adding extra weight up high and slipped into neutral on me a few times. But man it was fun! I think I may install it after the Holmes Hobbies Trail Master comp. |

I finally cut down the RC4WD scale lug nut hardware to fit the Underground Crawlers spacer. I also threw on the Rogue Element knock off hubs... they seem fitting with the steelies. I had to swap the front Traxxas wide hubs for Axial narrows... Melons has been running the wides since the beginning. I'm really looking forward to Sunday. It's the 2nd NWITTC event! The first event was awesome... Melons is currently 4th in 1.9. Last edited by johnnyh66; 04-12-2013 at 09:01 PM. |

Melons new larger bumper. I painted the whole thing orange but think I should have just painted the stinger orange and left the rest black. |

So my plan has been to run Buxom Melons on borrowed 1.9 IROKs in the HH Trailmaster comp this Saturday. But, I don't feel good about it... It's not fair to Melons. so, I'm gonna run her against the 2.2's... including Hera. |

that is one nice lookin car, I prefer the smaller bumper but it looks great. the scx10 is abit big for me, I prefer the look of the lower body comp crawlers (makes em look smaller), if I could get one lookin half that good I'd be ok with the extra size though. only other scx10 that I seen and liked the look was the gremlin that was sold a few days ago. really thinkin bout gettin one now and trying to do something alittle off like that for the body.

Thanks man, I took her on a test run today and the 1.9's did fairly well. She's a little more top heavy than I'm used to. Also, I need a custom bumper made. This one was getting hung up more than I'd like. I'm switching back to the stinger for the comp. I did win a $50 gift certificate from a builder at the last NWITTC. I was doing a few speed runs with Melons and the mmp got really hot. Hot enough that I was considering going back to the br-xl and 14t Puller. |

I'd like to build something along the lines of this. always been a fan of VW offroad. I'd like to see if I can figure out how to make a metal body for it... but for now its all well beyond my abilities. think I may start with painting a plastic body and seeing if I can fit it to my ridgecrest fro now, I've alot to learn still.

Is that a golf tee in your roof rack? Pretty sure you can't count that as a scale point. Edit: or is that a quickie winch point? Last edited by JHTreyIII; 05-13-2013 at 09:59 PM. |
