Default slipper clutch

how tight does everyone run thier slipper? ive been running mine as tight as i could get but ive broken every driveline part at one point. now everthing is mip or rrp now. im actually kinda worried now about tearing up the stronger(expensive) stuff.

Sounds like you need to loosen that slipper a little bit.. You never thought to do that when you were breaking all those parts?

Or you need to modify your driving style to avoid whatever you're doing to destroy your rigs.

honestly i really thought a slipper on a crawler was stupid

that and it is where i drive it not how i drive it. i am going places i really shouldnt with a scaler but 1/4 turn, 1/8 turn. little different then off-road racing thats why im asking.

I completely took the slipper out on my AX-10. Only problem I has was twisting the drive shaft's 2 little "fingers" off the yolk, once.

Just curiously, for those of us that want the slipper to function:

How many threads do you have exposed past the nylock nut? I can't seem to tighten mine much past the nylock and I was wondering if that is normal?

I like how the kit came with the slipper delete plate as an alternative.

I can't tighten mine any more and its sitting inside the nylon thread, when the truck can't go because bumper stops it, it slips, if the tire can't spin, the slipper steps in so the teeth on my gears don't strip. I would say that I have about 2 threads to go before the bolt goes on far enough to see the thread out of the nut, if that makes sense.

from a honcho kit i built.

i run mine wth 2 threads showing, neer broke anything but still enough power to get out of jams. plus its cheaper than replacing parts, it is there for a reason.

I run mine at 1 thread out (loose as possible). If I go any tighter and it won't do it's job.

i just remembered that my brother in laws dingo TR came stock with 2 threads out, and takes a lot to make it slip. pretty close to mine, i wonder why mine can't seem to get on tighter or seems way looser, but if it was any tighter it wouldn't do its job however.

I think it would be all about preference, I love to bash, so I will slip more than most people. I like to find weak points in things, and the driveshaft is what first broke for me trying to pop wheelies lol
