Default "Ole Blue" Comanche SCX-10

Built this from the Honcho SCX-10 kit. I just got into Hobby grade RC about a 2 years ago and have been buying and selling vehicles until I found what I was looking for. I started with a 2wd Stampede, then Losi Micro Crawler, then Venom Creeper(didn't actually get that one running), then Losi Micro Desert Truck, XR10(also didn't get this one running), then 1/16 Revo, then 1/16 Summit, and then finally the SCX-10.

Gotta say I am loving it so far... only 3 runs on it but it is a blast, just ran it for 45 minutes on a 2200mah 2s pack and only had to put back 863mah back into it.

Current electronics setup:

Castle Creations Sidewinder
Castle Creations 10A BEC (6V)
JR Z9100T Servo with aluminum servo horn
Integy 45T lathe motor
Spectrum SR300 and stock Losi transmitter(first thing I will replace)
2s Zippy 2200mah 20c lipo battery

Modifications done so far:

Pro Line Comanche body
MTHead Axial beadlock rings

I love the way this thing came together and love the finished product. I used Tamiya paints and used the flat clear on the outside to really tone down the body and fender colors. I then used a panel pen for the body lines and "Jeep" on the tailgate.

My future plans for this truck are to install working lights(the 3racing kit, the lenses were painted with Tamiya translucent colors), possibly working windshield wipers, a winch, some scale accesories, the pro line interior and also to update the TX/RX to be able to handle all of this. I have twins that are under 1 year old, so the progress to this is going to be very slow.

If you want to see all the pics I took today you can view my album here:

Finally some pics....

As far as my inpression of everything I love the way it drives. I think with this setup I have a good walking speed at full throttle. I may try 4s lipo just to see what more speed is like, but I don't think I need it. The Comanche body imho did not have very good fit and finish and was very difficult for me to work with. I love the end result, but to get there was much more difficult than I believe it should have been.

Good idea I will probably make up a license plate as the first thing I do... That had completely slipped my mind.

Great job!
I like how the way you re-used the rear of the honcho and build it perfectly in into you Jeep.

Thumps up!

Looks really good. I think I'm going to be doing a white version of the comanche on my SCX-10... still pondering though.
