Awesome thread man, Love the Jeep. How much run time on the 5000mah? I run with 1500 lipos for like 40 min on a 55t, I can only imagine a 5000mah! Might last the day!

Thanks! I appreciate it. I was also running the 1500's and was getting right around an hour. My Taco runs on 3400's and gets just over 2 hours on each. I've only run this 5000 for about 5 minutes on my front porch. We were supposed to go to a family party today but the wife woke up a little sick. If I can get out of going maybe I'll go out on the San Rafael Swell and get some good run times today. Sun is shining

So the other night I had a buddy come over (who is also my plumber) and showed him my rigs. Of course he wants one now and is going to get one with his tax returns These things just sell themselves. While we were driving I notices my jeep skipping gears in the rear end somewhere. Later that night I decided to investigate and found my bevel gear/output shaft/pinion gear (whatever you call it) was toast. Metal slivers, teeth folded over and worn down to almost nothing. I'm surprised it was still driving at all.







Turns out the trex60's are proving to be exactly like everyone says. Looks good but not as bulletproof as axial axles. I'm going to try the steel hardened gear from rc4wd and make sure it is shimmed right.

The jeep got a winch for christmas Really finishes off the bumper I think. The rest of my Christmas went towards my hilux build

Looks good I have a set of trex 60 with the 4 link and have yet to run them. If you live in slc or by there let go crawl love the jeep

Small update. Got my axle pinion gear and shims from rc4wd ordered. Also got a ProLine cooler from PhantomRS10.

had the same problem with my t-rex 60's, the new gear set helped greatly.
going to use them on an expedition style van build i'm gathering parts for.

Still waiting on my gear from RC4WD (holidays slow operations down, I understand being in retail) but in the meantime I got my rings from MTHead and hardware from McMasterCarr. Still don't have the rear axle on so this is just a mock-up of what it will look like. Also added more weight to these wheels since I had them apart. The fronts are up to 8.6 oz (which is somewhere just over 4.5 oz extra in each wheel) and the rears are sitting right at 7oz (which is about 3 oz extra).



The jeep being down has given me time to work on my yota project (taco got some attention for christmas) but I am ready to get back on the rocks with the jeep

Got my gear and shims from RC4WD today. It feels good to get that axle back together.



It's also the first time I've been able to use the rig with my rims and new rings, cooler, and winch all put on.



I've been thinking about this for a while and decided I would try getting the ride height a little lower. The body is as far down as it will go without trimming more and moving the electronics (which I plan on doing soon). All I did was take the upper spring off each shock. This allowed me to let the shocks sag more and basically turned it into an all droop setup.



I really like how it sits. Of course I had to hit the rock pile with it.

Finally got around to cleaning up my electronics. Got them mounted up in some RadioShack project boxes (I just so happen to own a RadioShack so these are easy to come by).



A little test run on my dogs soccer ball. I don't know if it's the gearing in these axles or what causes it, but the torque twist is opposite in this rig than my other one or any of my friends rigs, so before I understood the theory behind mirroring the tranny I just did it because it's supposed to help, but made it worse. So I flipped it all back while I had all the electronics off.



I haven't been giving the jeep much attention lately because I've been working on my yota (used to be Taco). The jeep got a winch for Christmas and I had mounted it, but never got it hooked up. Now it's a functioning winch

The cage is a little too wide to screw the body onto. What I did was drill little holes in the cab back and wired the cage to the cab. It's pretty solid. I've heard of some people using shoe goo.
