oh THAT'S why it looks like it sites so high, I forgot about how those Wraith axles mount. yeah you could help the drive shaft angles by doing that and getting it a little lower, and lower the COG too, even though that's probably not as big of a deal as usual with those massive axles under it

Thats a solid option or I could just stick about a 5mm spacer under the wraith shock piston and keep my ground clearance. Still unwinding from the interior, must have measured a hundred times and cut once. Shocks will work out after I finalize my wheel base, I am exactly 12.5 inches right now, but may go bigger. When doing these conversions you learn things the hard way, anybody out there know that the top links on wraith axles are offset 4mm? They are not centered on the axle and cause your axles to be crooked, I had a 12 1/4 wheelbase on one side and 12 3/4 on the other. Drove me crazy until I measured both axles and they both were offset 4mm. Check your AR60 axles, I think STRC caught this though and their alum upper mount measured differently at the hobby shop.

I am really starting to have fun with this project! It's like a Honcho on steroids! Nothing finalized yet, but I can tell you the body will always be a 1/2 inch higher due to the interior. This is because of the cage, if you just use a Wraith floor pan for your interior it would tuck up that 1/2 inch and not raise the body. I got a 1/2 inch scale body lift to clear the 2.2's doing it my way, the rest of the height is the 2.2's and Wraith suspension.

My stock Scx almost looks toyish to me now. Good shot showing that Wraith axles are about an inch wider(on each side).

Going back to work on the truck, I have to resolve the back cage now sitting higher. Heres another shot of how the truck is sitting right now. I am kinda liking the "stance" this truck is developing.

Here is a shot of the links before I turned my trans around, they are 15mm inboard on each side in this photo and just touched the driveshaft at full articulation. I now have 18mm and lots of clearance, the magic number for me is a 20mm spacer between the links but keep in mind my tranny is raised, flipped, and centered now, I'll have to take a better picture but I will give you what I got.

Here is a photo of the Wraith cage sitting on the Scx chassis, would be easy if someone wanted to do it, I cut mine up so you can be the first. Maybe its already been done, I am new here, but it's fun to share ideas. I edited this post to share an idea, can anyone see the back of the wraith cage cut off and mounted to the back of the Honcho body or any other cab only body? Just an idea.

hell the Wraith cage look awesome by itself dropped on the SCX chassis that might be a future project for me; snag a Wraith cage by itself, mount it on my SCX chassis, and cut out some styrene sheet body panels

any more photos of just the Wraith cage sitting on the SCX chassis?

Here is a photo of mine "naked" during mock-up, Honcho, Dingo, and Wraith combinations for everyone! Seriously though, composite cages weigh very little, my "cab" is extremely light(until I put the seats in, they weigh almost as much as the entire Wraith cage) it may look top heavy, but its not really.

Nice lookin truck, are you sure the cab can't go down? Best to keep it all as low as possible without killing ground clearance.

Building this truck has been an exercise in seeing what is possible when you combine a wraith and an Scx together. I never had plans to make this a comp crawler, more my "fun" truck. I could easily cut the floorpan for clearance to lower everything, and may end up doing so, the effort was made to do this by mounting the cage/interior on body posts. I hope everyone understands the truck is not done, so lets just see how it turns out first, then we can have fun trying to improve its design and performance. I am making the efforts to ultimately help others learn from this projects successes and failures, this interior is not that easy even though it may look so. I will keep everyone updated and appreciate everyones help and opinions, this is all about sharing our accomplishments.
