Project Dead Horse
 

Well here is my first shot at a somewhat scale trail rig. Wanted to make a thread to document my progress.

When I first got into crawling I started out with a Venom Creeper, by the time I was done with it there was little left that was still a "Creeper" and couldn't keep it from breaking. So I gave up that project and did what I should have done in the first place which was buy a SCX10 Honcho Kit. Buddy has the TR Honcho and I was always jealous of the looks and the simple fact that he could drive and have fun without breakage issue's.

When I first started I had a plain Jane Bronco build in mind and since then I'v just ran with it. Sorry in advance for the cell pic's and the poser shot's......she's only been on one 3 hour trail run and forgot the camera at home.

MThead bead lock rings (KILLER LOOKING!)

The Proline Bronco body isn't what I thought it would look like. Realized its about over an inch to long between the front door to the rear fender well. Guess i'll have to get over it and work on a more scale body for the future. That pretty much sum's it up as she sits, opinions welcomed, help or idea's also.

Great start to your build. I love those bead lock rings. Where did you get them, I know I can search but easier to ask, lol. Anyways great job with the start, good luck with future mods.

Looks good, just my opinion, looks better without the flares. Nice rig none the less, keep up the work. "thumbsup"

AsILayDying I got the rings for one of the RCC vendors. Do a search with the keyword MThead and you should come across it fairly easy. For 14$ bucks they changed the whole look of the rig and they look awesome IMHO.

Devil I debated for a few days before I finally decided to hack up the body and put the flares on. Not sure if it was a good idea yet, main reason for them was if I ran 2.2's with the body it wouldn't look like it was hacked. There is a bit of purpose to them too........I was able to get the body low enough and have clearence for suspension travel.

Yeah, some 2.2s would help fill it in a bit or maybe a set of 1.9 Pitbulls.

I have 2.2 flat irons on my bronco and I love them, I also have the rock beast, on my crawler scx10 and they are almost the same size. Both are A+ in my opinion. I'll post some pics when I get home. Truck looks great btw.

I'm thinking about the RC4WD 1.9 Swamper Boggers since they measure in at 4.75".......should feel out nicely. After Christmas I'm placing a order for the Bogger's, wireless winch, and a 45T handwound.
