Default My Wroncho...

Just had to show it off. It's got Wraith axles, spur gear, and motor. Also mirrored the trans. I'm not totally done yet I just made the top links by the driveshafts from stock plastic ones. So I gotta make some out of aluminum. It turned out really good, and is a blast to drive. I've also put the electronics in project boxes, and cut and moved the front bumper back. Well here she is...

It was easy except for the upper link placement. I mirrored the trans to get the outputs inline with the diff inputs to get a straight shot for the driveshafts. If this is not done the shafts are in such a bind they won't even turn. So doing it the way I did made it so one of the front and rear upper links is right in the way of the drive shaft. So I took a stock lower plastic link and heated it and bent it to clear the drive shaft. This can kind of be seen in one of the pics. It worked good but I've still got to build an aluminum one for it. This thing is so fun to drive now. I love it.

I might do this with my wraith. Getting a little bored with the stock plastic wraith chassis, looks mean on a scx10 frame. Good job!!

Question Re: My Wroncho...

I would like to try the same thing someday. For all of the other links (other than the modded stock one) did you just use the wraith links? That seems to be the only thing im stumped on is which links i would have to use :S. Also does the modded link affect the articulation at all?

I have made all new aluminum upper links now but no, they don't limit articulation. I have gained tons of articulation after the swap. And the stock wraith ones won't work. At least not for me, wrong length and wouldn't clear the driveshaft.
