The same can be done with any of the spektrums, if the radio doesn't have model memory you'll just have to readjust the trims when switching trucks.
As far as using a Spectrum stick (Air) radio, you would need at least a DX6I to get model memory ($200 with RX), and just add $7 Hobbyking "OrangeRX" receivers to each car/truck as needed. The DX5E has no memory.

It has two switches on top, if I remember correctly one is used to toggle the controller into Sim mode, but it can be made to operate a sixth channel instead

I think he wants to run 3 at the same time.... To answer your question Mr. Bronco, because they are 2.4ghz radios, you can run 3 of the exact same radios at the same time and you will not get interference between them.

It is advertised as a 5 channel, but it is actually a 6 channel. It has a momentary "Trainer switch" (For hooking up 2 plane controllers for training purposes, the "Trainer" can hold the switch to allow the "Trainee" to have control of the plane on his controller, if the trainer lets go of the switch, he regains control to assist if the trainee gets into trouble). If not in trainer mode, the DX5E can use that switch to operate the sixth channel. The momentary switch can be replaced with a 2 position toggle.

sweet, i am going to get one for sure, now just for when i get the money to upgrade, and get focased, first thisngs first gatta get a star for this site, too much info to not help support the site, thanks all, and btw, i am going to do the spectrum Dx5e for radio and reciver, im going for a tekin FX-R PRO with im thinkin a 35 turn motor or 45 turn from tekin, and then high clearence knuckles, aluminum links all the way around and then a winch and rear steering and thats with nothing breaking on me so if somthing brakes, that means it needs to be upgraded, sound like a good set up?
